Christmas Eve

In only a few moments it'll officially be Christmas Day so I can officially say: Merry Christmas, Joyeux Noel, Feliz Navidad, Nolliag Shona everyone!  I hope you all have a great day.

As I said, I'm going to spend it with my friend who has cancer.  I took the turkey which I got for Thanksgiving, to her on Sunday so the friend she's living with can roast it for Christmas.  I told him that it wasn't because I didn't want to do it (even though that's true) but rather that it's because he's such a great cook (even more true).  When my father and her mother were alive, we'd go to her mother's condo and Lee would always make the meats which were delicious.  Now why would I mess with that?  Anyhow, she told me that she has cancer in at least 15 places, all Stage 4.  She also told me how offended she is when people tell her that Stage 4 is terminal; she intends to beat it!  Sharon sounds great and looks good for what she's going through.

I finished VLT's book and it was really good.  I recommend it to you; three stories in one book, easy to read.  Vicki's is the best though.  I received an ARC of Connie Mason's/Mia Marlore's newest to be published next month, Waking Up Next to a Rake; it's really good so far and not like the other books by them.  This is a regency, post-Napoleonic wars dealing with the hapless Duke of Clarence's wedding plans.  And the hero is hot, hot, hot!

I made applesauce today.  Does that count as holiday baking?  It's a little runny but I hope that once it's chilled it'll thicken up.  I'm going to give some of it away as gifts.  I always think of my grandmother when I make it even though I use my mother's fruit press for it (I wonder, do they make automated ones now; it's getting hard to use this manually).

Have a nice day!

Trudy
