Friday afternoon, 11/2/2012...

Happy Friday to Everyone,

First of all, I've heard from both Amanda & Trudy.  Amanda's computer died but she does have a new one now.  Amanda & family are all fine.  They did have a tree go down that hit their mobile home/trailer but did not do any damage.  She said having the tree removed after it fell was very expensive but they were able to get it done quickly.  I'm sure when she gets a chance to get here she will fill us all in.  Trudy's computer died. Someone at her church is attempting to fix it.  She may use one at the library or something which is why I hear from her.  She said Sandy brought them a lot of wind but nothing to terrible for her.

The above picture is the street leading down to my apartment complex.  It was an early, foggy morning when I took this which is why it is dark!!  The drive way on the right is where I turn in to our parking lot.  I decided you all needed to see what my town looks like!  Of course it was a reason to go out to take pictures!!  It also made me stop to really look & remind myself what a pretty little town it is.  You will see much more, I promise!!

Sandi I wish there was some way for you, Margie & I to get together.  So close but so far away!  By the way Sandi, I don't know if you checked the weather but it should mostly be warm & sunny in the daytime while you are in San Mateo.  The evenings around the bay area tend to be cool because you are near the water & very often times foggy.  Make sure you have a sweater or some kind of light jacket or coat.

I made a kind of quick trip to Santa Rosa today.  I was in need of some new bras!  Lord, I hate going to buy new bras.  The one I really wanted is about $50 but that was to expensive right now so I ended up finding one at JCP!!  I decided to buy one & see how I like it when I actually have worn it on all day.  Of course, when they are new everything is tighter than the old ones which have over time stretched out some!!!  I never know how it will work out!  Enough of that! I also got gas at COSTCO & did a quick stop at Trader Joe's.

Margie, it is probably a good thing that your nephew decided that was enough Trick or Treating!  I always tried to limit my kids so we didn't have a ton of candy!!  Yea, that he is going to get help with his speech.  That will make a big, positive difference for him.   We had close to an inch of rain up this way.  It was great.  Today has been kind of strange, they said low clouds/fog early, then sunny.  The sun played hide & seek again today it never really cleared up.  At least it wasn't muggy like yesterday.  I liked it because it didn't get hot!

One more picture here in my town.  This is coming into Healdsburg Plaza.  Known by those that live here as the Plaza!!  The statue on the right is a tribute to all the men that served & died from Healdsburg.  There is a flag in the statues hand.  This was early enough in the day that I managed to get a picture minus people!!  A miracle!!  Yesterday when I was out for my walk they had yellow tape all around.  They have all the lawn areas taped off so they can reseed or just give the grass a chance to revive after all the spring, summer & fall use.

Enjoy the weekend.  I'll keep checking back for updates & let you know if I hear anything from Trudy or Amanda.

Happy reading,
Donna M
