I voted! 11/6/2012...
Happy Election Day & Donna H too!
Yes, I voted! I am so happy that all the election ads, mail, robo calls & anything to do with it all is over!!
I've not been answering the phone due to the election robo calls! I missed Bill Clinton!! Darn!!!
Remember I said the holiday ads would start...well, I had a Christmas catalong arrive in the mail today!!
The above picture is taken from a corner of the Plaza showing a row of shops, offices on the second floor. It is looking down Healdsburg Avenue north. This building is consider "new"! It was probably built about 20 years ago before I lived here. It was just early enough to not have lots of people out yet. Mostly the people I see are other walkers, runners, people on the way to work, etc.
When I took my walk this morning I stopped to vote as it is an easy walk from here. When I went in several people were voting, a lady was trying to sign in to vote but there were problems. She apparently never checked into the rules/laws on a name change. I heard her say "well, I did change it at the DMV"!! Did she really think that changed everything. When I turned around after voting there was a line waiting as all the voting booths were full. I got there before the rush!
If I get tired of the election I will read or watch a DVD or both! Here in California it is mostly the issues on the ballot that we are all concerned about. Healdsburg has people running for city council & we had two issues on the ballot. I really hope that once all the election is really over that life will settle some & the economy will continue to pick up.
Mary & Amanda, are you going to get hit by this new storm coming in? It sounds like the worst with this one is the rain & the cold. I feel for the people that have already lost so much that now this is going to slam into everyone.
Here is another picture to say so long for now! This one is also across the street from the Plaza but more south. Actually to the left of the other picture. This is a hotel, restaurant, more shops & a walk way between the two buildings (first picture & this one). The hotel is even newer! Probably less then 10 years old! I wanted you all to see how pretty this area is. More in posts as we go along!
Enough for now. Happy reading,
Donna M
