Friday afternoon

Well, I hope everyone's week went well.  It's finally hot enough here for the a/c unfortunately.  Most of the snowbirds have left and peace reigns in the valley!  LOL! I love it here in the summer b/c it's laid-back and quiet. Yes, it can get hotter than blue blazes and so humid you can't breathe but life is slow and easy!

I had to take a break from historicals; they were messing with my mind!  So I've read a bunch of Presents and Desires; not that heroines falling in love with alpha millionaires who have an agenda is much better! ;)

This illness I had is much more than an UTI.  The tests my primary sent out to the lab came back showing bacteria and staff.  I said that I wanted to go see my urologist which I did yesterday.  He said that he wanted to scope my bladder as it was either my bladder or my kidneys.  If there was a polyp in my bladder, it would be easy to treat he said.  Then he did it in his office and, Praise the Lord my bladder is clean!!!!  However, when he was done, he told me that he had been SURE that I had had bladder cancer.  I said, "Really?  You're good.  You have a poker face. I had no idea."  He repeated the statement and walked out the door.  So Mon, I go for a CT scan w/contrast to check out my kidneys like the one I had last summer which was clear.  I was at the chiropractor today and he had a substitute there; she's really good.  She did a through exam when I told my story and she said that she didn't think there was anything wrong.  I'm much relieved.  However, my maternal grandmother died of cancer which started in her kidneys and spread throughout; Mother had pancreatic cancer and my other grandmother had leukemia.  I'm not scared but I do feel weird.  I emailed my family with the subject line of "I passed a blood clot" and I've heard from both of my sons which really makes my feel good; I haven't heard anything from my sisters.  You don't just pass a blood clot for nothing!

Donna~~My sympathy!  I used to live in a rowhouse in a subdividsion in a valley where the floor drains backed up all the time in heavy rains!  Water used to come in through the cinder block walls too.  I know what you're dealing with; it isn't fun.  I lived there when Hurricane Agnes went through PA; unfortunately, I was in a tent at Cape Hatteras in the middle of it and luckily had good neighbors who at least opened the doors so that mold didn't build up!  I never want to go through something like that again!

Sandi~~Someday I want to see the bluebonnets!  I've heard that they are gorgeous!  Good luck with whatever you're facing.  Congrats on going to RT!  Lucky dog, you!

Have a great weekend everyone! :)
