Hi Ladies!
Trudy -- Will keep you in my thoughts. That's a lot of family history there. Hoping none of it passes your way.
Sandi -- How did your first week of sales go? Lucky you on going to RT! Bet that will be fun. No, we don't always buy newer books. Everyone in the group has a kindle/nook, so a little cheaper when they are new. We also pick book subjects - some we might normally read and most which we wouldn't. To expand our horizons, so to speak.
Mary --- This weather just make up its mind! Beautiful this weekend and rainy and colder the next few days - booooo. Phillies seem to have found their hitting game this weekend - always good to see:) Hope it will continue.
Margie --- Glad to see you here. Def understand about being busy.
DonnaM --- Love the pics, as always. Would have loved to go on that hike with you! One of these days . . . .
Ok, so on my book club book - 11/22/63 is a Stephen King but not horror (that will be next months pick). This one revolves around JFK's assassination. The storyline is a guy finds a portal back to 1958 and thinks he can change history, except he gets cancer and can't make it to the date. So he recruits someone he knows (who is much younger) to go in his place. When you go thru the portal, it is always Sept 1958, like groundhog day. And if you come back to 2011, you have only ever been gone 2 minutes, no matter how long you stay there. Only 120 pages in, so a long way to go. So far I like it. I just need some more time carved out to read - lol.
Can't believe its Monday already. Work is just being piled on, but at least I can work a little overtime. Not enough to catch up, but some is better than none. I had this nasty cold last week, and everything seemed to go wrong there, so hoping this week is better. We shall see. Hope everyone has a good week:)
Amanda
