Sunday evening

Hi everyone! It has been a while since I've posted. I have been reading posts but just not posting. I am glad everyone has checked in since I've posted. I believe I posted before Easter. We had a great day with the family all at Karen's house. Lauren loved her skirt I made for her. Both she and Jacob were thrilled with their stuff from the Easter bunny. My dental saga is on-going. I was supposed to get the permanent bridge on last week but it had not arrived yet at the office. I am now set for Wed. I am really hoping all goes well. Once that is finished I have two other teeth that need worked on but I will worry about them when the time comes.

I have been doing a lot of reading since I last posted. I read Hotshot by Catherine Mann and it was good. Not as good as some of her others. I read Whisper No Lies by Cindy Gerard, another of her Black Ops series and enjoyed it. I read an older Donna Alward book, A Soldier's Homecoming. I enjoy her books and this one was good but not one of her best. Ride the Fire by Pamela Clare was very good. This is a historical romance set in 1763 in western Pa. I have read some of her contemporaries but had never read one of her historicals. I read India Black by Carol K. Carr. It is the first in her historical spy series set in Victorian England and the heroine runs a brothel. It was pretty good and I will continue reading this series. It had a lot of humor. She works with a very handsome spy named French and there is some chemistry but only time will tell is anything happens between them. And finally I just finished reading Jodi Picoult's new novel called The Storyteller. It is very good but somewhat disturbing with all the details of the Holocaust. I will probably read Nora's new one next.

I have also watched a lot of movies lately. The best of them was Argo which I would highly recommend. Life of Pi was good--the images are great and the special effects. Anna Karenina was not so great but Keira Knightly is good in it as is Jude Law. Zero Dark Thirty has great acting but is very violent. Don and I also watched the first and second season of Game of Thrones which is on HBO but we watched it for free. It is excellent.

Sandi--I will keep Brian and your family in my thoughts and prayers. That is cool that you get to go to RT. The whole question of Misty's son's paternity is important because in some states if the mother is married her husband is the legal father even if he is not the biological father. I have a friend whose son is in a similar situation.

Cady--a very belated happy birthday to you! I hope you had a great day. Good to see you here.

Trudy--I hope you are feeling better and that is great that you got your washer paid for finally.

Donna M--as always your pictures are great to look at. Don and I have seen the first two seasons of Homeland and really enjoy it.

Amanda--do you think spring will come back and stay? It feels like winter again right now. The Phils are up and down aren't they?

Donna H--what a pain having to clean up water from your basement. We have had some off and on over the years but have never been flooded. Is your ankle doing better? How are your son and dil doing?

Margie--hope all is well and you can get back here soon.

As I am sure everyone is, we were relieved that things turned out as they did in Boston. Thoughts and prayers are with the families of the victims.

I hope I haven't missed anyone. Have a good week everyone. I promise to come back soon. :-)

Mary
