Hi All! {:-)

Wow, I thought I'd never get back here.  I didn't read all the posts that I've missed, just went back to the bottom of this first page, which is a post by Margie from Wed. a.m. Oct. 10.  Hopefully I'll be able to read the rest at a later date. . .   I was sitting here sneezing, and wondering why me feet hurt.  Then I realized I hadn't taken my meds this a.m.  Now that that's done. . .

Donna M, you must have known I'd come in today to make a comment about all the posts.  {;-)

Sandi, is your kitchen done already?  I like the description of your tap.  It sounds like the one I want someday.  I was only gone for 2 weeks, and look at all I missed.

I play Freecell and Spider Solitaire on my computer.  My sister and I had a competition going for a while with Freecell.  We started at game #1 and just kept track of how many games we lost out of every 100.  But then she started pulling away on me in games played, so when she was 5000 games ahead of me, I just slowed down playing it, and haven't played for months.  I've got Spider Solitaire on my phone, so that's mostly what I play now.

Margie, you're having a garage sale next week?  Good luck!  We had one back in spring, but didn't do real well.  On Nov. 3 our town is having a Christmas Stop 'n' Shop at the town hall.  I've got a table reserved for that.  One of these days I'd better get my bins of crafts hauled out and see what I'm low on.  Last community craft sale we had was a bust.  I sure hope this one does better.

I'm reading A Little Texas by Liz Talley. I'm not liking it as much as her other books.  I'm not connecting with the h.  This gal is a hard-drinking, smart-mouthed, whatever, whatever. . . and I'm not liking her very much.  That could change, though, so I'll hang in and see how it goes.

I can't remember a time when I didn't read.  When I was young my parents bought me books for every occasion.  Then when I got older -- like in high school -- I spent so much time reading I'm sure they were sorry.  Then when my kids were little there was no time to read, so now I'm having to make that time up. . .  {:-)

Sandi, up here when we go by that old adage about throwing stuff away, we usually say a year instead of 6 months.  Otherwise we'd forever be having to buy new stuff.  We have two very distinct seasons -- minus 40 in winter, and plus 40 in summer.  But at our house it's me who holds onto stuff, and Hardy who's forever trying to throw my stuff away.

It seems like my kids are getting closer to owning their own home.  Two years ago when they were going to buy it, the bank told them they needed a co-signer.  We couldn't, because our mortgage was still too big, but they finally found someone who would.  Then after all was signed, sealed, and delivered, they found out that the bank had put the house in this other guy's name, and their names were on the co-signer line.  There was a big kerfuffle about it, but the bank wouldn't change it.  So now they are buying the house from this guy for the amount that is left on the mortgage.  It has been one mixup after another, but there is finally light at the end of the tunnel.  So last week the lawyer they went to see told them that sounded "too fishy" for him, and he wouldn't do it.  Excuse me?  The bank is finally coming through and saying this is what we will do for you, and he's going to call it "fishy"?  So they had to find themselves another lawyer.  Our sil, Lee, was mad.  He's got a short temper at the best of times, but he was furious!  (let me just add here that our daughter, Joy, doesn't take any guff from him, she gives it back to him as good as she gets, and usually it's him backing down).

Cady, does Maggie do any oral reading?  Say, to you while you're making a meal?  And spelling out the words she has trouble pronouncing?  She could be fine reading to herself, but gets too nervous when she has to read aloud, and that's why the teacher thinks she's having trouble.  Maybe all she needs is a little oral practise.  Let us know the results of your p/t conference.

Trudy, I'm glad to hear that your lawyer is finally getting going on your stuff.  I hope there is a quick, and favorable -- for you -- decision!

Margie, LOL on you watching Cinderella when you were younger.  So what did your dad think about having the same name as a mouse???

I got an email from my sister at midnight last night that said my niece had just had a baby girl, 8 lbs, 2 oz.  No name.  Then at 1:30 a.m. I got another one with a picture, and the message "The little Missy still has no name."  I'm going to ask her today how long she slept in this morning.  My niece was in labor for 21 hours.  Her first baby, a son who will be 2 in Dec, was by C section, and this one was born naturally, but she had to go to the hosp. at the first signs of labor as they wanted to keep an eye on her incision.  Twenty-one hours!!!!  Yikes!!!!  I didn't have that, total, with all 5 of my kids.

Hardy just got home and he's a little peckish -- actually, so am I -- so I'll go scare up some lunch for us.  Hopefully I'll be back sooner rather than later. . .

Oh!  I almost forgot.  We had a great week-end with my folks for my mom's birthday.  I have a picture of them that I'll try and remember to post next time.  Actually, I'll try to post it now.  Just remember, this is a lady who used to weigh more than 200 lbs, and now she weighs 84 lbs.  She's also 90 years old.

Well darn!  Now I can't find it.  Guess I'll post it later after all.
