TUESDAY

Donna with some of the details of that house in SF it's hard to believe it could belong to a private person. I imagine the outside requires a lot of upkeep to keep it so clean looking. Because I got new hours at work (I now have to close on Mondays) I miss some of Dancing. I don't remember if I saw Pamela dancing or not, but I won't miss her being on! Last night I missed about 15 minutes or so. Did you get your car serviced? Brian took his for an oil change, and then on his way home it was making a noise he hadn't heard before. Turned out he needed one new axle. Now Richard tells me his car is also making a clicking noise...well Brian told me actually, but getting Richard to tend to it could be interesting.

Mary, did you decide to continue watching Dancing? It could be that its' a show whose time has come and gone. I don't know! I think I read one Bullet Catcher book awhile back, but certainly haven't read them all, and not in order! Sorry to hear about Don's shoulder. Is it getting any better at all? When we had the chance to go to Valley Forge I missed it! Right before that trip each of the boys had been sick, and it caught up to me while on the trip. It was just cold enough that I decided to stay at the hotel and sleep while the rest of the family went exploring. Thankfully Richard took a lot of pictures, so I got to see, but not the same as being there!

Amanda, 25 different trees, or species of trees? I could handle counting 25 different trees, but species is something beyond me! Our book club is always fun! We used Skype with video this time, so it was interesting. Because of the new hours at work I'm going to have to back out of the Monday book club that I was attending. That's ok because I wasn't really that comfortable there, and they tend to make it more about the book than the author. They were supposed to meet last night, and I wonder how many people showed. I think they were having an author to actually show, and I know that at least 4 people cancelled at the last minute including me because of those new hours! Why did the girls have the day off? In our district the kids had yesterday off for Fair Day..which meant teachers got it too. Today the teachers have an inservice and the kids get another day off.

Trudy, I read one or two of the Love Inspired suspense and was pleasantly surprised about the religious aspect being there, but not crammed down your throat. I've read other books with religion as a part of the story and I would say they were on the same level. I've not read more, but I would certainly if the time was there, and the story was yelling my name! Hope the doctor can find out why you're not feeling well, and that it's nothing serious! Did you get the appraisal for your car? Did your friend sell hers?

Margie, how was the fair? That's great that you can go and be a part of those sorts of things. I'm sure Gavin and your sister both appreciate it.

Cady, sorry to hear that Maggie's headaches aren't going away. Maybe soon! Do you think they could be weather related at all? A tooth issue? Inner ear? Just tossing out ideas! I have to agree about Gone Girl...I read it but didn't really think it was all that they hype led me to believe. You're right the ending was a surprise without a doubt! I have a friend who read a different book by her, and totally enjoyed it, but I don't off the top of my head recall which one. I'm going to have to go back through my text messages and figure it out!

Mary, so sorry to hear that Don has a setback! Having to deal with the IRS can not be fun at all. We've always had a CPA, and try hard to err on the side of caution so as not to draw attention to ourselves in their system. I'm glad to hear you're going to get it worked out.

Trudy, how sad about the little 3 year old. I do hope that they end up being able to find out what happened to her. Does being hit upon make you feel good or creepy? Glad to hear you're finding some books to help you escape from reality for a bit. I'm not really into historicals, and for sure not as far back as you like to go. If I do a historical I tend to stick to about the Civil War era for as far back as I like to travel.

Margie, that's too bad that Gavin didn't really like the fair, but glad you were able to get to come home early. Are you ready for the yard sale? My sister had one recently. I have never had one. I just feel like they're a lot of work, and time consuming. I just give my junk to some charity, and figure out the money issue another way!

Donna, congrats on your SIL having a new job. Sounds like it will be a good one for all involved!

Cady, I used to prefer night shirts to two piece PJ's as well. Now I'm into pajama pants and whatever old t-shirt! Glad to hear shopping went well, and that while you and Maggie were having mommy daughter time, Mike and Luke had bonding time too. You're all making me want to get to Dream Lake sooner rather than later!
Oh! I almost forgot...did you finish the Robb? I didn't really care for it either, but a lot of people are loving it!

Margie, did you find the box of books? That's the advantage of an ereader...no more having to search through boxes to find the box of books!

So as I've mentioned I have new hours at work. I'm now working til 6:30 on Monday and Wednesday. One Wednesday a month she's going to have to work with me to change that as I don't want to be late to book club! That's the one where we have potluck and a call in author. For October our call in author will be Kim Harrison, and I am hosting. The good side to closing is that I am trying to be productive at home before coming in to work. Yesterday I cleaned the kitchen, did a load of laundry from start to hanging up, got another load into the dryer, and yet another into the washer. Since Richard is still home he finished up those two loads as I made sure they were both just towels. One load of dog towels (we had a rainy weekend, so they were a mess!) and one of people towels! I also did some shredding and cleaning of my side of the bed corner. I made almost a whole bag of trash with stray things I was picking up from the dresser, and my nightstand/file cabinet.

It's been forever since I went to BN and did any reading on my nook, but I made some time over the weekend to do that. I had been reading Shop Till You Drop by Elaine Viets. It's the first in her Dead End Job series. I got close to the end when my time ran out and I had to come to work. I checked the library and they had the ebook, so I checked it out and finished it. The great thing about ebooks from the library vs. audio from the library...when you finish an ebook you can return it. So I read those last few pages, and returned the book! You can't return an audio early. I've probably been reading on that book for a month or more! Awful I know!

I also finished reading Sweet Laurel Falls by RaeAnne Thayne. There were some plot points that were easy to tell ahead of time, but the ending was something that I just didn't really see coming, and I'm not sure what I thought of it. Overall I enjoyed the book. It didnt' make me cry, but I was glad to hear that there will be more in this series, Hope's Crossing coming in the future.

I listened to a book by Susan Elizabeth Phillips, and as I sit here typing this I can't recall which one! Oh...it just hit me...Breathing Room. Now I'm listening to Hide by Lisa Gardener. From fun sassy contemporary to suspense! Amazing!

Mike got his flu shot over the weekend, and had a reaction to it. He was fairly sick until late Sunday, and still not feeling the best yesterday, and only went to work for a half a day. Not sure what he will do today. I'm going to book club. I know...book club! We have different book clubs that meet in different places on different days, but each one only meets once a month. This is another one that has a potluck and a call in author. I've not read the book for the month, or anything by the author whose name I don't recall, because I've never heard of her before, but I like to go for the social!

Hope everyone has a great day!

Sandi
