Friday evening, March 15/13

Hardy and I went to our dil's place tonight for haircuts.  I got my "spring" cut -- very short!  I just couldn't stand the hair hanging in my neck any more.  She cut around my ears instead of over my ears, so now all my earrings show.  {:-D  I babysit for free when she needs a babysitter, and in exchange she cuts my hair, etc for free.  Even though she works in a nursing home, she is a licensed hairdresser, so it's not like she doesn't know what she's doing.

Amanda, I love Intrigues.  What were those called that you just read about the brothers and half-sister?

Warm weather?  What is that?  It's supposed to be -23 here tomorrow, and about 4 inches of snow on Sun.  I am SO ready for spring!!!  This wasn't the coldest winter on record, nor the one with the most snow, but I'm very sure we're long past the record for longest winter!

Mary, I've got the whole Nora series of Night Tales on my keeper shelf, alongside the Donovan series.  Love them both!

Thanks for the instructions on how to get to Goodreads.  I also see down the side of our page is a box with Goodreads in it.  I'll have to check it out one of these days soon.

I reserved a Robyn Carr book from the library called Women's Own.  I do wish there was some way you could know what type of book you're reserving.  It came in the other day.  Turns out it's an historical that she wrote way back when.  I know some of you love historicals, but I dislike them intensely, though I have been known to read one occasionally when the story-line caught my attention.  This one, however, when I read the backblurb did nothing for me.  So I put it back into my "library" bag to be returned on our next trip to town.  I'm now reading book #3 in my Love Inspired Suspense K-9 series, called Guard Duty by Sharon Dunn.  It's not as good as the first 2 in the series were (they're all by different authors)  This h is a cop, but she's on the verge of being TSTL.  Her life has been threatened, so what does she do?  She goes running out into the street just because she sees a car pulling up to her house and she thinks it's her brother whom she's waiting for.  Just lucky her FBI friend goes rushing out after her because it turns out to be the person who's been following her for the last couple of weeks, and when he sees the H, he jumps back into his car and takes off.  That's the 3rd or 4th stupid thing she's done already, and I'm only on the first 1/4 of the book.

I'm still waiting for a couple of my reserved books to come in.  Meantime, I guess I'll attack my TBR pile -- more like mountain. . .

Ugg, it's after midnight.  No wonder I'm sitting here half asleep.  More later, er, earlier?  {;-)
