Guess Who's Back. . .

Hi everyone!  I can't believe how long it's been since I was here.  I don't think I read all the posts, but I did go back about 3 pages.  I had come here once before, read all the posts, took some notes, but didn't get to posting my comments.  I'll post them now, but they'll make no sense. . .

I'll probably be jumping all over the place, so please forgive my jumpiness.  (is that a word?) {:-)

Trudy, we're in Canada, and the inauguration is just about all we could find on every news channel we get (that's how long it's been since I was here. . .)  I'm sorry if you like him but it's my belief that he is not what America (the USA) needs at this point, but the other guy is just as bad or worse.  We pray for your country (and our own) every single morning!

I'm very sorry that you've lost your Sharon.  I was 66 on the day she turned 61, 5 years older than her, and that was Mary's birthday, too.  God could have done a miracle and healed her, but I've been taught that the greatest blessing of all is when He takes us home to be with Him -- no more sickness, no pain. . .  {{{{HUGS}}}}

What happened with your eye appointment?  Is everything okay?  Somehow if you told us, I missed it.

Mary, where do you find this Goodreads that you talk about?  I'm not sure I have time to find another site to blog the books I read, but I'd give it a look or 2. . .

Sandi, {{{{HUGS}}}}  My niece is dealing with ADHD in her oldest son (he's 12), plus her middle son is autistic.  When my bil told us of all the stuff she's going through I just about cried.  (Actually, I did, just not when he told us)  Two of my grandsons had to have tubes in their ears because of infections and hearing problems.  They're fine now, but making sure they got no water in their ears for the years the tubes were in there was awful.

Trudy, mold is dangerous!  You think it's not bothering you, but it's sneaking in the back door, and will give you grief with lung problems in the years to come.  If you're finding it on the surface, guaranteed there's more of it underneath, feeding on the wood.  I'm sorry your manager doesn't seem inclined to do anything about it -- I'd lean on him some more.

Sandi, I feel for you on your wisdom tooth extraction!  My son-in-law had 2 teeth pulled several weeks ago and the roots of one were twined into the bone, so they had to chisel away some of his jawbone.  He was off work for 2 weeks!  I've still got a piece of bone sticking out of the hole where I had the tooth extracted in early Jan.  It doesn't hurt or anything, and I think it will eventually be covered over.  I've tried to pull it out, but it's still attached.

Margie, that jump house sounds like fun!  Kids these days don't get nearly enough exercise.

Donna, if you can't reach the mold, put a rag on a long stick and clean it off that way.  We are so lucky!!  Our house may be old -- built in 1935 or thereabouts -- but it has no mold!  Although we sometimes have to use a dehumidifier in the basement for a few weeks each summer.  Maybe that was just when our water heater was leaking.  Guess I'll find out soon enough.

$40 to fill your car gas tank?????  I wish!!!  At our prices $40 barely gets us half a tank -- and we don't drive a great big car either!  We're paying $1.22/litre (about a quart) which brings us to within a few cents of $5/gal. . .

That rose picture might have been big, but it sure was beautiful!  As was the one with moss on bricks.  You are very talented with your camera.

Trudy, does all that hassle with the phone mean that you now have a new email address?  We likely won't do anything other than the usual for St. Patrick's Day, except maybe eat some green bread or something like that.

I didn't watch the Oscars.  I'm just not into things like that.  I don't watch sports on TV either.  I've been a fair bit of reading.  My book list says 35 for the year, but I know there are quite a few I forgot to write down.  I'd say I'm closer to 50.  Read the other 2 "Stiff" ones by Annelise Ryan, and have my name down for when the next one comes out.  They're written very differently than the books I usually read, but are very enjoyable.  I'm going to look for more books by her, but she's not a Harlequin author, so she's not as easy to find.

I know I missed stuff, hope I got all the names straight.  Greetings to you if I didn't mention you. . .  and I hope it won't be so long between visits next time!  {:-)
