HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO CADY, 3/30/2013...
HAPPY BIRTHDAY CADY,
The flower is especially for you today. I hope you have a wonderful day with family & friends.
Hi to Everyone,
First of all, I can't believe how much I have missed here. I did read all the posts I've missed but not sure what I will remember. If I skip anything it is just my brain not recalling everything I read!!!
This picture is from a venture of mine out to Ferrari-Carano Winery the other day. It is a cloudy day with some rain & sprinkles off & on. The beautiful part was the tasting room at the winery was closed for maintence, upkeep & due to the weather there was hardly anyone around. That was great for picture taking as no one was in my way & I was not in theirs!! Great conditions. The gardens there are so spectacular right now I was glad I drove out there. However, I went mostly to see the arbor all covered with Wisteria but it was just starting to bloom so not real pretty yet. Maybe I will try to go again this coming week.
DonnaH & anyone else in regards to Nora Roberts book Rebellion. It is the only historical in the whole MacGregor series. That series is one of my favorites of hers. The MacGregor is just such an interesting scoundrel! By the way, my mold problem is because it is up so high & I'm short. I've tried several ways to reach it with my mop, which is a sponge mop, several other ways but nothing has worked so far. It needs to be scrubbed & anything at the end of a mop handle, window washer (like you use on a car) hasn't worked because I can't get enough oomph on it!! I don't know if all that make sense but there it is!! I probably need to have maintence take care of it! I personally think that the fan in the bathroom isn't strong enough to prevent the mold from happening. Because of the way this apartment complex is built there is no outside window in the bathroom it is a totally inside room. I hate bathrooms like that as they are much more likely to develop mold. I say that due to personal experience!!
Margie, so sorry to hear Gavin had an earache. They are so miserable for kids. My youngest daughter had a tendency toward ear problems. Never fun! Good luck with your taxes. Is your family having a get together tomorrow for Easter?
Mary, are your dental appointments behind you? Have fun with the family for Easter. I'm sure the grand kids will have a good time. It is suppose to be a rainy day here or at least showery. Pretty much for the bay area. Morning may be ok but today is showery, brief showers so it may be wet or kind of damp on people's lawns. We need any moisture we can get!
Sandi, an email from Fresh Fiction was about an author signing in Dallas (I think!). Not sure my brain is remembering the right city. Are you attending that? Now that so many authors are doing only ebooks I was wondering just how long authors will sign books!! I still like my print books. Have yet to think I'm going to like reading off an electronic device. It might help my eyes though. I have to pace my reading now which is why I don't get more done! Hard to believe Elijah is 2. Fun age though despite the "terrible two's"!! Bye the way, I'm glad that your review went okay. I was always glad to have that behind me.
Trudy, sorry! But I laugh at your complaining about the "cold" in Florida!! I think 80 is to hot unless you just want to stay inside. Of course, that is just me. I did not see your "boys" on PBS. Don't know if I just missed seeing when it was on, if it was not on here yet or if I had a program to watch on another channel that I don't like to miss! Any of those choices are possible!!
Amanda, so glad that was not your mobile home that burned! That was scary to look at. That was a lot of people in a small space! Nice to know they all got out except the one gentleman, so sad he did not make it. Are you taking lots of pictures? I seem to recall that you were going to try to take one everyday. When I get started I just keep going!! I thought about you when I was out at the gardens the other day. Wish all of you could have been there with me. It was just absolutely gorgeous! I'll have more pictures to share of that!
Yes! I have been reading just slower than I like!! I'm not going to try to go into a lot of detail but here is what I've read most recently. The last one I remember posting was Horse Soldiers! Here we go: Hell On Wheels by Julie Ann Walker, a new to me (I think) author, it is a suspense with the wheels being motorcycles. It is actually a group of men that use a custom motorcycle shop as a cover for their activities on catching the bad guys. Chance of a Lifetime by Jodi Thomas, part of the Harmony, Texas series, very good, Did You Miss Me? by Karen Rose, excellent if somewhat chilling at times, Running Wild by Linda Howard & Linda Jones, a collaborative effort by those two, it was good. I needed something on the lighter side after the Karen Rose book! Running Wild was also a suspense but nothing like Did You Miss Me? Now I am reading a non fiction. The other day I picked up Robyn Carr's newest, the start of her new series & a new Catherine Anderson. Both are authors I love reading, a lot!
This is enough from me for now. I miss Cady. Hopefully she will see the birthday wishes at some point. I think between her job & family she just has a lot of her plate right now. She lost an assistant, I think due to budget issues so Cady had to take that over. I will leave you with this picture of a portion of the gardens at the winery.
Enjoy the rest of the weekend.
HAPPY EASTER TO EACH ONE OF YOU.
Donna M
