BOO! I'm back. . .

I can't even remember when I was here last.  It has been one hassle after another.  Nothing big, just all the little things piling up.  We had about 6 Christmas banquets, 3 kids' programs to go to, and on and on.  When you finally think you're done shopping, you remember one more thing that you really can't do without, so there goes another day in town, and when you get home, you think of something else you forgot, so off to town you go again the next day.  I was ready to pull my hair out!  We've had company 5 times in the last 2 weeks -- yikes!  I didn't realize it was that often till I actually sat down and counted.

My house is even cleaner than it's been in a long time.  Now if I can just keep it that way. . .

I had dental surgery on Monday.  I had a root canal done on this tooth about 20 years ago, and over the last few months a bit would break of here, and a bit there, so just before Christmas I figured I'd better get it looked after before the whole thing was gone and I was left with nothing but a root.  So I quickly made an appointment, but they couldn't get me in until Jan 7th.  Well, guessssss what!!!  Boxing Day.  The whole thing broke off.  Thank goodness it wasn't hurting.  So Monday came, and I knew it had to come out, but didn't have a clue how she was going to get it out.  She cut down the front of my gums, and drilled away a little of the bone, got her little pick in there, and out it came.  She did put in a couple of stitches, but I've still got a huge gaping hole in my jaw.  It hurts some now, but not as much as my wallet hurts!  Sheesh!  $269.  Hardy said she should have charged me half because there was only half a tooth left.  I wish!

On Sun. evening I got a call from my sister-in-law that a friend of ours had passed away that morning.  On Mon. evening I got a call from my dad that my aunt had passed away that morning.  I refused to answer the phone when it rang on Tues evening. . .

I almost forgot.  HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY AMANDA!!

I truly will try and come a little more regularly now that -- hopefully -- the madness of the Christmas season is past.  I see that we're getting a couple of very good photographers in our group.  I liked that one of yours, Donna, where the tree was reflected in the water.  That was cool!  Amanda, I'm going to have to go back and click on your panorama one to make it bigger as I really couldn't see much as small as it was.  It's sure nice that someone knew how to solve that problem. . .  {;-)

I started keeping track of the books I read last year, but fell by the wayside somewhere around June.  Up until then I had read about 20/month, but even that slowed down at the end of the year.  I'll say I read 150 -- that should be fairly close.

I was talking to Bren (do you remember the Wench from eHarl?)  the other day, and she said she hardly ever goes there anymore, so I invited her to join us.  But I didn't know how to send her a link.

Oh!  Hardy just reminded me that he has a meeting tonight.  I'd better get along and make some supper for him.  I'm still on soft foods until my mouth heals a little more.  See you later.  {:-)
