Hi everyone!
First let me wish everyone a happy and healthy new year! Our holidays were great. Karen and her family and my brother came to our house yesterday for pork, sauerkraut and mashed potatoes. Ice cream for dessert! Our Christmas was great also. The kids loved all their presents and had a great vacation from school and work. I haven't started putting decorations away. I like to leave them up for a while into January.
Trudy--yes we did have a white Christmas and still have some snow left on the ground. It is cold but no storms in the forecast right now. I can handle the cold. Glad you got to spend Christmas with your friend.
Sandi--I have been keeping track of my reads for years. I read 71 books this year.
Amanda--I enjoyed your pictures. Did you enjoy the snow? I can handle the little storms and the cold, just don't like the big snows.
Donna M--I love the shore pictures. Makes me want to go there but not at this time of year! Retirement is great if you have a lot to keep you busy and your needs are met. Sounds like you had a nice time with your gs. What a guy!
Cady--I hope you are all feeling better now. You mentioned looking for more historical mystery series. Have you ever tried any of Ann Perry's books? I have read one or two. Also Ellis Peters who writes the Brother Cadfael mysteries. I have read a few of those also.
I have done some reading. I finished The Secret Keeper by Kate Morton. It was ok but a bit too long. I also read Holiday Buzz by Cleo Coyle and it was a good read. It is part of her Coffee House mystery series. Today I started Fear No Evil by Alison Brennan.
Today I had my dental check-up and found out I have to have several teeth capped. This was a bit of a shock. Our dentist of over 20 years retired suddenly with no warning. We like the dentist who took over but we are finding out our old dentist was more than a little negligent the past few years. One of the teeth I have to have capped is one he did just two years ago! We don't have dental insurance but they do have a plan you can buy into. Lucky for us because Don also is having some work done. Not the way I wanted to start the new year off but I am thankful that the new dentist is on the ball.
Have a good week everyone and happy reading!
Mary
