Hi everyone!
It has been a while since I last posted. I have been reading posts. I am keeping busy. Still putting Christmas stuff away but that always takes me a while because I reorganize and dejunk along the way. I have been reading. I read Fifty Shades Darker and enjoyed it. It was better than the first book in the trilogy--more of a love story and more info on the background of Christian. I will probably read the third book soon. They are long but don't take long to read. I am currently reading Bare Bones by Kathy Reichs. I really like her books and this one is good so far.
We had a busy weekend. We watched football. We also watched the whole second season of Homeland--Showtime On demand was free for three days. The second season is better than the first IMHO but not for the faint-hearted. We did some shopping since we both had gift cards. I found a fleece jacket I have been wanting. It is cream-colored so is dressier looking than my gray one plus warmer.
I have been updating my Goodreads books and have friended some of you guys. I like going there and spending time reading reviews and rating books. There are a lot of things to do on the site. I am not doing reviews on Amazon right now. Some people can be really nasty and they are public comments. I guess Amaz. is trying to do something about the negativeness.
Trudy--sorry to hear your friend is not good. That is how it goes with cancer. I remember that with my dad and fil. I too would someday like to visit Scotland. Many of my ancestors are Scottish. I love books set there, especially the highlands. Haven't read any for a while though. What restaurant were you referring to here in Berks?
Donna M--yes I guess you could say pork and sauerkraut is an east coast thing. It is a PA Dutch tradition but just about everyone I know has their version of it. Glad you liked The Perfect Hope. I thought it was a good ending to the trilogy.
Amanda--our weather has certainly been warm for Jan. I guess that is about to end.
Donna H--ouch about your tooth. I feel for you. I am about to embark on a dental journey myself :-( Sorry the funeral was so sad. Hope your family is able to get together for your aunt's memorial. Blizzard! Stay safe.
Sandi, Margie and Cady--I hope all is well with you. Check in when you can.
Well, I better get some work done this afternoon. Have a good week everyone!
Mary
