Hello Everyone,
It is so nice to see all the posts. I hope I remember just some of what I read!! Tuesday I went to Ft. Bragg in Mendocino county with one of my friends. I had not been up in that area for several years. We had a good day but my picture taking left me unhappy with the results. The scenery was not grabbing me, the weather was gray, the water was mostly gray I just was not thrilled. Would like to go back another time to do more exploring. There were some places I wanted to stop out but we ran out of day! The road you drive over to get there is very curvy which makes night driving not comfortable for me. Next time I go it will be when there is more daylight. All that said I had an enjoyable day with my friend. In order to get over the worst of the road we had to head home around 4 o'clock. It worked out fine. The above picture is at MacKerricher State Park which is a little north of the coastal town of Ft. Bragg.
Mary, let us know what movie you see. There have been quite a few out that I would like to see & a few I would not!! I'm not sure what is playing now at any of the nearby theaters. We have a small complex here in Healdsburg & another one about 6 miles away so we do have a lot of choice. I hope the weather doesn't stop you from being able to celebrate. Good luck with all your dental work. I am a terrible dental patient!
Margie, how fun that your family are all 49er fans. Will you have a Super Bowl party & watch the game together? I hope your dad is going to be okay. That must have been a scary experience. Thank heavens the flu has passed me by so far. I do get my flu shot faithfully every year. I'm glad to hear that you are enjoying your Kindle now. I'm still trying to decide between the Kindle HD Fire & the Google Nexus. I did talk to a tech person at Office Depot to find out the pros & cons of each. How do you like reading on a "device"?
Sandi, so glad you stopped by. Brian is 21 or almost? Oh my! I remember him as a child when we first knew each other at eHarlequin. Time flies! I am looking forward to that new series from Robyn Carr. Your comments were interesting which made me more curious. Good luck with your wisdom tooth extraction. I think I still have two of mine but the others were pulled many, many years ago. Have you ever read any of Marie Force books? I believe all hers are ebooks at this time?
Wow! There is some nasty cold in parts of the good ole' USA! They were just showing some of what it is like in the Chicago area. So glad I am here in the west!! Cady, Amanda, Mary & Donna H, stay warm.
Trudy, thanks for your update on Sharon. It sounds like she is at a good place. How nice that you can go see here so easily. I'm glad you are enjoying the books you are reading. As you know I don't read many historicals. Good luck with your eye exam. I hope they find nothing serious.
Amanda, so glad you are posting pictures. Those are great views. It would not bother me at all to be that high off the ground. At least I don't think so! Not sure I've ever been in a building that tall! I have however been on some pretty high ground & I loved it. :-) Think walking across the Golden Gate Bridge!! Thanks for cheering on the 49ers!
On the news down here they have a special segment on the 49ers every night. At least on the channel I watch! One of the sports casters played for the 49ers in the 80's when they were consistent winners. He has a Super Bowl ring & they always do close ups of it at the time of the Super Bowl. The rings are huge!! There is lots of talk about the "Harbowl" with the two brothers as coaches on opposing teams. A first in Super Bowl history. The 49ers are making a bid for the Super Bowl to be played at their new stadium after it is finished. I think that is in 2014.
I have been reading! Most recently I finished Sea Glass Winter by JoAnn Ross, a Shelter Bay series book. I loved it. She is an auto buy for me. I also read Ambushed by B.J. Daniels which was good. An older book of hers.
One more picture of my day on the Mendocino coast! Just a bit of the area showing some ice plant & the rocks along the pathway we were on. It was such a gray day that the color on the ice plant really stood out.
Enjoy the rest of the week or the days until I return!
Take care, happy reading,
Donna M
