Sunny Saturday afternoon, 1/19/2013

Good afternoon to Everyone,

It is so nice to see you all posting.  I have been home since Wednesday from pet sitting & have been on the run since!  It seems when I am gone even though I come home to pick up mail etc., I still have to catch up!  Wednesday was also the day my social security arrives in my bank account which means I need to start work on crossing off things on my "need" list.  Getting money once a month means the list is always extensive!  So Thursday I shopped, Friday I got a hair cut & did laundry, today I did more laundry & took a walk.  Oh yea, I cleaned the toilet & sink in the bathroom.  So much fun!!

The picture above is the last time I drove over to the coast in December.  As you can see it was a gray kind of day.  I need some new pictures!  I did a sunset the other night but the pictures are very similar to some I took before.  I just got them off the camera onto the computer but I haven't put any of them on Google+ yet.

Donna H, a blizzard is not why I want my town on the news!  That must have been quite a storm.I don't know how each of us access the blog but when I click on the pencil to write a message for posting that is when you see the little green lock at the top.  It is just under the tab that says Blogger: Readers United - x.  Since we all use different Internet services I have no idea what you may be seeing.  I don't remember the person you are talking about from eHarlequin.  Too bad your aunts service was so sad.  Sometimes they are a celebration of a life well lived.  When I had my appendix out many, many years ago my doctor said if they had waited any longer it probably would have burst.  The reason he did not operate sooner is that it is one of the harder things to diagnose, or was at that time.  The symptoms were like other possibilities & tests didn't have any positive outcome that led him to operate sooner.  It was caught in time so all was okay!  I hope your nephew, or was it cousin, will recover soon.  That burst spilled all that infection out into his body so I imagine recovery might take awhile.  Did you enjoy the Nora Roberts book?  I liked that series.  I'm looking forward to the new ones for this year.  One reason the cost of your dentist didn't sound so bad is because of what that type of dental work costs here in the states.

Mary, how scary to have a stabbing at a school so close to home.  Shortly after the Sandy Hook school shooting my grand kids in Oregon were out of school for part of a day because they had had a bomb scare or gun.  I don't remember which one now.  It turned out not to be true.  They went back to school later for classes.  They emailed me while they were out is the only reason I know.  Since my son in law has a company vehicle Nick gets to have Daddy's pick up to use for going to school.  He likes it!!  They had an extra long lunch break due to the threat.  I think they went to meet their mom for lunch since they had wheels!  I will be watching football tomorrow as the 49'ers are playing the Falcons in Atlanta.  Sad to say that on the news last night they announced that one of the key players has been accused of sexual abuse.  I don't think they actually said rape.  Not to much is being said yet as the news was just breaking.  They did say that the police had interviewed him, he was co-operating & apparently did not have to be detained as he is with the team in Atlanta.  I hope it is some female trying to get some money out of him.  I'm amazed at what people try with these athletes.

Cady, I hope you survive all the extra work until summer.  It seems they should hire another person now instead of shoving more work off on you.  Just my humble opinion.  You mentioned one time about needing some new authors.  I can't remember if I mentioned you might try Jodi Thomas.  Her Harmony, Texas series has been very good.  The most recent one is out now.  I don't have that one yet.  The first book is The Comforts of Home.

Trudy, sorry to hear your grandson was at a school that had a stabbing.  I think all schools now have emergency plans in place for all types of incidents.  It must have been scary seeing it on Facebook.  Is Sharon doing any better?

Besides Nora Roberts starting a new series & also has a new hardcover coming out Robyn Carr is starting a new series that takes place in a coastal town in Oregon.  I'm pretty sure the town is fictional!  I'm also looking forward to that.  There will be no more Virgin River books at this time but she said that who knows what the future holds!  She may revisit at some time.  I have new books by Carly Phillips & JoAnn Ross to read.  The JoAnn Ross book is the newest in the Shelter Bay series.  Cady, have you read JoAnn Ross?  She is another author that I really like.  My most recent reads are In Close by Brenda Novak & Ambushed by B. J. Daniels, both older books.  Not sure what is next.

This long chatty post should catch me up for now.   Here is a picture, sorry if I am repeating these days!!  I must catch up & get some new pictures.  This one is at Goat Rock Beach.  I love days like in the picture as both water & sky are so interesting.

Have a great weekend Everyone.  Go  Niner's.
Happy reading,
Donna M
