It was my grandson whose school was involved in a stabbing last Tuesday, not Mary; her grandchildren aren't old enough yet. LOL! However, Mary does live close to that school which is why I mentioned it. I called a friend of mine who lives in the area to see if there is any update on the student who was stabbed and she said that there wasn't. The student who committed the crime was expelled though, big whoop. She's going to send me the newspaper article because my son, dil and other grandson are on the front page in a photo.
I think I've managed to figure out how to do the Goodreads thing! Yes! My reading challenge for 2013 is posted and I've listed the books I've read but only reviewed a couple of them (hard to get caught up). I hope that I enjoy this!
I've just finished reading another of Sue-Ellen Welfonder's books, Wedding for a Knight. It is also a medieval Scottish romance that finds Lady Amicia wed by proxy to Sir Mangus who wasn't thrilled to find this out when he returned from battle. But his clan needed the coin her dowry could bring and he had secretly loved her his whole life. It wasn't until Mangus thought that Amicia was lost to him that he realized his love for her though and then it was almost too late. Sue-Ellen Welfonder delivers another excellent book!
I need a change of pace and am now reading The Medusa Seduction by Cindy Dees, one of my favorite authors. It's a romantic suspense and I've just started it but Cindy Dees always delivers.
I saw my friend Sharon over the weekend; she's in rehab now, almost within walking distance of me. She still looks the same and I really can't say that she's gotten any better so, please keep praying for her. She finds anyone who mentions giving up to be insulting even though she realizes the odds are stacked against her. We walked at a fairly good pace around the whole facility which is laid out in around a courtyard; this right after she came back from PT! I just take what comes as what is because I can't do anything for her except pray. Her birthday is Friday; she'll be 61.
Tomorrow I have an eye doctor appt. They moved it up after I told them that I'm getting black spots in front of my eyes! It's not floaters; I have those and it's not the same. So when I get home, I'll be useless for the rest of the day, great! ;(
