We've been reminded also today of 9/11 even though there were few Canadians involved. One of the news stories that ran here had speeches from those who lost loved ones, and a little girl said, "Daddy, I was only 9 months old when you died, but I miss you every day." I hear stuff like that and I just wish someone would go over to where those terrorists came from and just drop one huge something that would annihilate the whole country of them once and for all. I know many of them are innocent, too, but in Bible times (depending on what the wrong was) if one person in a family did wrong, the whole family was wiped out, women, children, all of them. Kind of makes you want to be a little more vigilant about keeping your loved ones on the straight and narrow. . .
Donna M, I WISH I only had another 5 lbs to lose! That's just my goal till the end of this month. After that I'll still have another 30 to go. Whoa! I just realized that once I hit 170 I'll be half way to where I want to be. That's closer than I've been in many a year.
I am starting to understand football a little better now that my grandson plays. Still don't really understand it well enough to enjoy it, but I'm getting there.
Hardy and I cut our evening walk a little short today as it was wicked windy here. I had to chase my hat once, so when I almost lost it a second time, I hung onto it after that.
That house really does look like waves. I love the different depths of the windows.
I've never read Danielle Steele. Looked a few times, but the back-blurb didn't do anything for me, so they stayed on the shelf.
Sandi, it's very good to see you back here again. It sounds like you're as busy as just about all the rest of us put together. Does Richard help look after Elijah when he's there, or does a lot of it get left to you? You have certainly been busy enough with sorting and renos, too.
I emptied one bookshelf from the basement and gave it to one of my granddaughters. The two I emptied from upstairs both got moved downstairs, and the one I emptied from inside my closet is staying there as it's screwed on to the wall. I'll save it for my keepers when I need more shelf space in the big one I just bought. They are all actually still in good shape.
I'm finding lately that I've been mis-reading quite a bit, too, but usually it's because I was either reading too fast, or was distracted, and jumped to conclusions.
Cady, well, yes and no -- yes, I am feeling better, and no, I was not able to escape what Hardy was passing around. . . I felt miserable all day Sat, Sun, and yesterday. When I weighed myself this a.m. I had lost 3 lbs in 3 days. I just wasn't hungry. I do NOT recommend it as a weight loss method. Thanks for the good wishes on that, though.
-- oops! I guess both you and Sandi are busier than the rest of us.
Trudy, it sounds like you're still having your share of major health crises. I hope things start improving very soon! I am glad, though, that the affair with the CU seems like it will be resolved positively.
I'm about 3/4's of the way through the last Bullet Catcher book. I think it's #3 in the series, but I like it about the best. It's called Take Me Tonight. I'll really miss this series, even though I did think it was a bit long at 10 books. I'll read the tellHarlequin books next. I did read the back-blurb, but can't remember now what they said.
I don't know if my daughter was feeling better today or if she was just mad at the dr. I told you she'd gotten a call from his office saying that he'd found something in her tests and making an app't for yesterday -- well, she went, only to learn that they'd not found anything conclusive. The one thing he thought he'd found was not conclusive and he wanted to re-test her. Anyhow, while I was gone for my physio this morning she came over here and did all the dishes I'd left standing for the 3 days I was not feeling well. Bless her heart!
I went online the other day and reserved 13 books from the library. Seven Liz Talley ones, which is all she had listed under her name, and 6 Diane Pershing ones, which is also all she had listed. That should do me for reading for a while. . .
