Good Afternoon to Everyone,
The above picture was taken last fall. They have already done the decorating outside for this year but I haven't gotten a picture yet. I am ready for fall!! They also did it differently from last year.
Yesterday I started a 10 day cat/house sitting job in the same neighborhood this house is in. More pictures will be forth coming!! In fact I was out taking a bunch of pictures late afternoon yesterday. I'm waiting till after the day with my daughter in San Francisco to transfer them from the camera to the computer. At this point I'm not sure if any of them are any good!!
Last night I watched the movie Mirror, Mirror with Julia Roberts. It is based on Snow White but certainly a different take on it!! It is sometimes funny, sometimes outright ridiculous but worth watching just for the costumes if nothing else. The costume designer must have had a blast. It is like imagination run amok!! It was fun, entertaining to watch. I believe Cady said her daughter & friends watched it for her birthday party. Nathan Lane is also in it, did a great job in his part. Julia was also very good.
Donna H, the couple brought into the Moonshell Beach book may have been from one of the previous books in the series. I'm not sure just what couple you are talking about. I have enjoyed each book of the series. I do hope everything will go well for your Mom's birthday celebration. You will have to share it with us when you can. Enjoy the 2nd "end of the season" wiener roast. Our mornings & evenings are starting to feel more like fall. I didn't go out early for a walk this morning as there was just to much of a chill. When I did go the sun was just coming out from the fog but it was still pleasantly cool. Glad you liked the pictures. At this point I can't remember what I've posted & what I haven't!!
Amanda, good that the link I sent you worked. I don't use Microsoft/Yahoo much anymore except for some links I have on favorites. Google+ is much faster for me plus I am enjoying the work of the many photographers that share their pictures here. I'm such an amateur! They also have cameras that would puzzle me plus, many of them are professional photographers. Still, I have a lot of fun! What a pain that your daughter is having bus problems. My kids rode the bus for many years as we mostly lived out of town. When my oldest was in high school she sometimes caught a ride with a friend that lived near us. Please don't wish for more hours in the day! The 24 we have are good!! You would just get more tired & try to do more!!! :-)
When I bought my new printer the other day I picked up a couple of freebie magazines that Best Buy had on display. Big mistake!! They are on new technology, new computers, etc. Oh how I would love to have a new computer but at this point I don't know if I want to go the laptop or desk top route! Then there is the fact that I would love a tablet for when I am gone from home or traveling. Like now, if I had a tablet I could just take it with me when I am pet sitting. I would still have to come home to pick up mail but it would be nice to have the accessibility wherever I am. Which brings to mind the question would it just be better to have a laptop? Decisions, decisions! Not that I am going to be doing anything in the near future. But dreaming about it is nice. There is also the fact that my TV is old enough, plus it is old technology, that it is going to die one of these days! At least I have a better idea of what I want in that regard plus the TV cabinet/bookcase that I have will not accommodate a very large TV. I was disappointed when I realized that. Oh well!!!
I think I have babbled on long enough for now. Here is another fall picture from the same neighborhood taken last year. There was no way to keep the fire hydrant or that ugly phone or electric box out of the picture. Guess I should find another place to stand!! I hope the color is as good this year. These trees put a carpet of yellow leaves on the sidewalk. It is so pretty. One year I saw a father taking pictures of his little girl of about 3 playing in the leaves. It was so cute.
Enjoy your day. Happy reading,
Donna M
