Friday night

See, I told you that I'm back at last!  Wonderful things, those bookmarks on the toolbar!  Weather has returned to typical Florida summer weather!  Soon, soon!  The snowbirds are returning anyhow.

I went to the cardiologist this morning.  Really don't know why he said my EKG is abnormal; he never said.  He did want me to go for a cardiac cath but I talked him out of it and instead, I'm going for a echo stress test and a muscle blood test.  Both of us agree that the stress is playing a big part of this.

CarMax appraised my car at $700; ten months ago they appraised it $2000.  When I asked why, they said it was b/c now it's over 10 years old and they'd have to auction it off.  I wonder how my lawyer will take this news?

Who has an injured elbow?  I went back aways but didn't find it.  How painful!  I know hitting your "funny bone" is bad but hurting an elbow?

Thanks for telling me about LIS; I may try reading another one in that line again.  I've avoided LI b/c every one I've read before (and they sent me a LIH to review too) had the people praying before everything! I'm a religious person myself but it really was too much.  This story was just right.

I've gone back to HH again.  Like many of you, I don't like the straight romances anymore; I prefer something with a little more zip to it and in my case, I'd rather go back in time (degree in history here).  I've become especially attracted to medieval Scottish romances in the last few years and have learned a lot of history from them that I didn't learn in college.  I've been especially attracted recently to Monica McCarty's series "The Highland Guards" over the last year; the newest book, The Recruit, is out now but I haven't gotten it yet.  Currently, I'm reading a HH by Terrie Brisbin, The Highlander's Stolen Touch, which does take place in 14th century Scotland but isn't historically accurate as Monica McCarty's books are in that the story doesn't refer to specific historical events.  Still, the reader does learn about everyday life of that time.  Of course the catch is:  You have to like history!  It's also escape for me.

Oh, you know how the guy picked me up on the beach last week and he was 20 years younger than me?  Well, this week, my neighbor whom I've considered a very good friend and who has loaned me money for both the a/c debacle and the attny and who has a significant other who lives with him for many years, put the moves on me!  He's significantly older than I am too.  There's a lot more but you get the idea.  Now I am in a real pickle!   I go pretty much more than 20 years unnoticed and then, wham, twice in less than a week!

Tomorrow, I'm going to a funeral for a 3 year old from my church.  In March, Lola was an active 2 year old and then she started having continuous seizures which no one was able to stop.  She was even sent to the Cleveland Clinic but they couldn't help her.  She died a couple of weeks ago, shortly after her b-day and her family is devastated.  It wasn't epilepsy but I don't know what the final diagnosis was.  Such a shame!

Hope you all have a nice weekend.  Are your museums free tomorrow?  Ours are and I want to go to see them.
