Good Afternoon to Everyone,
Did everyone have a good weekend? That extra day is wonderful if you are working. My weekend was very quiet. I don't like the holiday traffic & crowds now that I can go at other times. I was home reading, spending time on the computer, did some cooking, just kept life easy & simple. I did watch a movie that was a different! The name of it was Extremely Loud, Incredibly Close with Tom Hanks & Sandra Bullock. It is about a boy that is trying to learn to live life after his father is killed on 9/11. I had tried reading the book earlier this year but just could not wade through it. The movie was somewhat better but not one I would tell other people they should see. When I say different I mean a bit strange in some ways. I can't really think of the right words to express the feeling of the picture. John Goodman also has a small part in the movie but I saw him in several scenes before I realize that is who it was. I wasn't watching it now because 9/11 will soon be here but because I've had it in my queue at Netflix for awhile so it finally reached the top!!
The picture above is my day at the coast last week. These brown seed pods were interesting against all the green & other vegetation. I was amazed to see so much blooming at this time of year as you always think of wildflowers in the spring. You will see more pictures of flowers as I go along.
We haven't seen Sandi here for awhile. I hope all is well in her household. I'm sure she has just been busy.
Yesterday I put off going to the store which meant I had to go today. I did that chore! In fact, I had to go before I could eat lunch as I was just out of some of the basic necessities! Usually I don't do that but as I said I hate the holiday traffic. We get so many tourists here that driving in town usually frustrates me! What is it about people that ignore the traffic signs, stop lights etc. Grrrrrrrrr! It is one of my big complaints these days. No, I am far from perfect but I do try to obey all the rules plus show courtesy to others. That is the way life was when I learned to drive. :-)
There really isn't anything new with me so I will stop the chat for now. Here is another picture from that day at the coast. This one makes me laugh as I forgot I had the magic filter on when I took it. The ice plant is not hot pink but it is kind of pretty this way! As I mentioned before I was experimenting with some of the different settings & features on my camera. Time to learn more about using it.
