Friday night

Hi Ladies!  I finally made it back - lol.  I was just busy last week, and then Sunday night I couldn't get the internet to work.  Had to wait until Wednesday for someone to come out and learned something new.  Me, the computer illiterate that I am, did not know I had other browser options on my computer.  I also learned Microsoft sucks for other people and not just me.  So now I'm on Firefox and things are definitely a lot speedier - yeah!  The joys of technology.

DonnaM -- Thanks for sending me the link.  I have to put all my "favs" now on this one - sigh.  The joys.  Glad you got a new printer and a decent deal to boot.  Sorry it was such a hassle taking your friend to San Fran.  Our time is never given any consideration, that is for sure.  I know football started, but I didn't watch much Sunday as I was getting some cleaning done.  Will probably catch the later games this week.  Love your pictures, as always.  They always make my day:)

DonnaH --  What a nice surprise with the new tv!  No doubt, tv will be much more enjoyable from now on.  When is your mom's party?  Can't wait to hear how it goes. So sorry about the lady who's grandbaby died.  Such a shame.  I never know how people get past it.  I got the same Tell H books as you - and read the one about the Wolff brother so far.  I thought it was pretty good.  Pretty light.  Its been over a year since I read a Desire book.

Cady -- My girls started school on the 4th.  Had back to school night for Amelia last night.  Nice to see I actually recognized the teachers Aurora also had.  She complained to me about going into the one class (don't remember if it was Mr. Hill or Mr. Hills class.  I know, the name thing is a killer), and he said Hi - nice to meet you.  How's Aurora doing?  She was the only one in class that had the "older sibling" question - lol.  I told her it was better than being called Aurora, like she got all the time in elementary school.  Love the pics of your kids.  I probably wouldn't do the zip line now, but definitely would have then.

Margie --  If I remember right, The Walk is based off the authors journey of the same route thru LA after the 1994 earthquake.  The story otherwise, I'm sure, is just fiction.

Mary -- Hasn't this weather been gorgeous?  Too bad I'm in work for most of it.  Have taken a few walks after dinner though, instead of going to the gym.  How about the Phils?  Put together a nice streak until Thursday but killed Houston tonight.  The playoffs are still a possibility.  Who would have thought?

Sandi -- Sorry about Richard losing his job.  Never any fun.  Enjoy Elijah while you can.  Just remember how quick your boys grew.  Too bad Brian bowled lousy.  Not a good time, for sure.  Amelia didn't really want to bowl last year, so I let her opt out.  She had her first dance class Monday and seemed to enjoy it.  We'll see how the rest of the year goes.  I have an afghan my mom made (and she has a few she's made).  I believe she made one for Amelia too.  We also all have fleece blankets she did.  I'll have to post a pic of my quilt one day.

Trudy -- Glad to hear things might be looking up for you.  Sleeping better at night is always a plus:)  Keep us posted.

Well, its been kinda busy here.  School started, and the first two days, Amelia's bus is a no show.  My mom called me on the first day, as she drove Amelia in, and happen to pull up in front of the principal, who got an earful from her.  We didn't know until after school on the second day, as she went in with one of the other girls at the stop.  David ended up calling the bus company and basically got nowhere.  The principal had called him before Amelia got home, so he thought everything was good.  The principal called all of them in last week about the bus situation too.  At least he is trying.  The bus has shown up every day since, but gets them to school just as homeroom starts, so they can't hit the lockers first.  This is not the only bus problem in this district or a few others.  Seems everyone wants to save money by cutting staff/buses.  And I pay taxes because?  Aurora's bus, on the other hand, has no issues.

This is going to be a beautiful weekend and we are thinking of hitting the zoo on Sunday.  No doubt, I will probably had an extra child along, which is fine.  Wish I had Mon-Tues off like the girls.  Seems unfair they get it and I do not.  Will be leaving work early Monday for a visit to the eye dr though.  Time to check on that bleeding eyeball again.  At least I got a few months off since the last visit:)

Haven't been reading.  Finished The Walk, which was really good, and the one Desire that Tell H sent.  Read the first chapter of the next one, so I'll finish it in the next few days.  Have my "new" book club on Wednesday, so will probably start that book next.

Alright, better get off to bed.  I would really like some more hours in the day.  When will somebody invent that?  Hope everyone has a good weekend!

Amanda
