Hi guys!
It has been a rough week in the Perry household. Thank goodness for good books and good buddies to talk to! Nothing earth-shattering but enough to cause me to have a tension headache I can't get rid of. I mentioned that Don's therapist told him he may not have 100% healing. Today she told him he should take a step back in his pt and use lighter weights. He is experiencing more pain again. He does have improvement in range of motion and that is a good thing. This is going to take longer than expected. The other big thing this week was a letter telling us we owe a considerable amount of back taxes to the IRS! Long story short, we went to our tax attorney today and he will handle everything. It was a mistake on the part of a bank and the IRS itself so we are not to blame and will have no financial responsibility. But you do have to go through the process of clearing things up and having an attorney adds more weight to the claim. All I can say is keep good records! We are feeling generally crappy and are taking the weekend to just do something fun.
Amanda--It is good to hear your eye is improving. That is great news! The weather turned yucky but hopefully will improve tomorrow.
Donna M--the area around Valley Forge Military Park and Wayne, PA is a really beautiful area. Karen and her family live within walking distance of the park. There are lots of very old trees in this area. Karen has a few on her property. It is pretty year around with the trees and the colonial type houses. I think fall is the best time to see it. I didn't watch DWTS on Tuesday but I figured Pamela would be voted off. I may check it out from time to time as the season continues. Good to hear you really enjoyed the Bullet Catchers.
Trudy--I have read several of the LIS books. Most of them have been good. The faith aspect is less than in the other LI books. Please let us know how your medical tests turn out.
Cady--I agree with you about getting tired of the straight romance books. I do from time to time like to read just romance but I always prefer either romantic suspense or mystery. I hear you about the LI books but as I told Trudy usually the LIS books are better.
Margie--I used to read Agatha Christie books. They were some of the first mysteries I read as a teen and young woman. I like the movies and series based on the books as well. I hope you get good news about Gavin.
I did read a lot this week. I finished Between the Lines, the book by Jodi Picoult and her daughter. Her daughter came up with the book concept and then they wrote it together. It is a fairy tale with a good twist about a prince in the story who wants out of the book to live in the real world and the young girl who falls in love with him and helps him. It was very good--enchanting and uplifting. The illustrations are beautiful as well.
I am now reading Hiding in the Shadows by Kay Hooper. This is a book in her Bishop series. I have read many of her books over the years. This one is good so far.
As I said this will be a fun weekend. The Steelers have a bye this week but we will catch some college and NFL games. And I will be reading and working on sewing a dress for Lauren.
I hope everyone has a good weekend. Happy reading!
Mary
