I didn't realize how long it had been since I stopped in. It's been a bit busy here.
DonnaM, I'm enjoying your pictures. The one of the Russian River is so pretty. You mentioned our t.v. stations out here. We don't get the Bay area stations. They are called Central Coast stations. I grew up always having to watch t.v. with a rooftop antenna. We had NBC and ABC with stations close enough that the pictures were clear. But the CBS station was snowy almost all of the tiome. It came out of SF as well as KTVU channel 2 that later became Fox. For a while I actually had to get my ABC and CBS from Direct TV coming out of LA and NY. I hated that. They would not give me SF station for some odd reason. Something to do with local channels that didn't make sense since we didn't have any. Now Direct TV gives us ABC and NBC out of Salinas and CBS and Fox out of Monterey. So I'll never see a SF station unless I have a roof top antenna which will never happen.
DonnaH, Thanks for the information from Valerie. My sister is already in the process so we hope it is positive this time. If not, I will contact her for advise. Your grandaughters dress was sweet and such a pretty color. Enjoy Witness. I really liked that one.
Trudy, I don't watch America's Got Talent. My parents do and I see bits here and there. I'm not sure from what you said if the girl you know was voted off or not but I wish her luck if she is still in it.
Amanda, Has Amelia started her dance class yet? Is that earthquake book fiction? It's been over 20 years since our area's big one but I do remember it like it was yesterday.
Cady, Maggie is one brave girl. You would not get me up there.
Mary, I hope Don feels better soon. We've been using our AC more this month and I always worry that it will die. I have no clue how old it is but I know we will have to service next year. I am so glad to have it.
Sandi, I hope all is going well for you.
I mentioned Gavin was crying at preschool. Well he cried the first couple of days. Then it was shorter on Wednesday. They said he let out a noise Thursday and was fine by Friday. He hasn't cried this week at all. He's been going through evaluation to move out of that class to get services for speech so we hope that it is a positive response to his needs this time.
I did finish A Night Like This by Julia Quinn and it was good as usual.
I read The Ugly Duchess by Eloisa James. I've been enjoying her fairytale series. This is book four but the books are not connected. They just have to do with a fairtail theme. I was a bit disappointed with this one. The h/H are very young and in love the first third of the book. Then are separated for several chapters that span a few years. Then they are reunited but that part is just too quick of a resolution for me. I wanted more meat.
Then I'm not sure if I mentioned but I read Conquered by a Highlander by Paula Quinn.
I didn't have anymore library books so I went through my bedside drawer and took out an older Silhouette Intimate Moments. Whispers in the Night by Diane Pershing.
I've read one other SIM by her and really liked it. I enjoyed this one too. I was really surprised as how much stuff was packed into this little book. The H is a cop who was framed. He served four years for being a dirty cop and now he is out wanting to clear his name. He takes a handyman job for the sister of the man who testified against him so he can find the brother. The h is a widow of a wealthy elderly man. He was forty years older than her and I was surprised to learn she had a sweet physical relationship with him and was in love with him. Now his adult son's are hounding her because of the money she got. She is staying at a romote family cabin but strange noises and things are happening to frighten her. There are a lot of suspects to choose from. H/h start to have feelings for each other so things get pretty steamy too. This could be a good LifeTime movie.
I hope to get to the library to check the romance section and hopefully find something that calls to me.
Have a good Friday.
Margie :)
