I went back and read everyone's posts but didn't take notes so if I miss someone, please don't take offense. I am concerned about your rash because it got worse in the sun; I think that's not a good sign. Please keep a close eye on it. Something about what you're describing niggles in the back of my mind but, I can't remember what it is and it would help with the rash. Meanwhile, please stay out of the sun.
I've had steaks from Outback and they're delicious, although I haven't been there for many, many years. Did you know that Outback, Carreba's, Bonefish Grill are all Florida companies, started by the same men?
I didn't know about the preference in names with the Latino and Native American community, especially the Native American community. Then again, I haven't worked for almost nine years and wouldn't have come across it. Thanks for the info; I'll adjust my vocabulary.
What is the book choice for June? I haven't seen anything mentioned in the posts. Today, I received an order from HQ of books I chose; there is an assortment of genres so I can choose a title easily. Plus, I have an extensive TBR pile to choose from as well. I am trying to cull that pile and have a box of books which I took to the flea market on Sunday but it was too hot so, I gave up and came home. I'm trying to sell everything I can to put towards the repair of my a/c.
Speaking of my a/c, the company was out here last Friday and determined that it was the chase line which is as bad as it can be; buying a new system would be easier. Trying to explain the problem to people is proving to be as difficult as well. The chase line is the copper tubing which carries the freon from the inside air handler to the outside condenser. Every a/c system has one; how the tubing carries it out to the condenser varies. In my case, it goes through a PVC pipe in my concrete slab and is shared with the chase line from the unit above me. However, that chase line was replaced many years ago so, that copper tubing is useless and can be pulled out which is definitely in my favor. Now I must wait for the owner of the company to come out and determine how to replace the chase line and the cost. I also hope to see if my homeowner's insurance will help to pay for this b/c it'll involve tearing holes in my walls, maybe even the outside wall (over my dead body).
I picked up the photo calendar for my grandson yesterday. It is really awesome! And he will get a pic of a mini cooper and "great, big boobies" each month! I've reached the point where I feel that my family is pretty much "dead" to me but I'm not going to cut my grandsons b/c their parents are such jerks. They can't help it if their parents won't let them contact me; my oldest will be 16 in Aug. and we'll see when he becomes an adult.
I'm doing what I did four years ago for the election. I'm amazed at how technology has taken over! Every time I go to a meeting, just about everyone pulls out an iPad or tablet of some sort and starts to look up info! All I do is sit there and take notes. So Sandi, I can see how you'd love your iPad!
Thanks for the recommendations on the books. I do love Monica McCarty's Highland Guard's series; you really feel as if you're living the story. I've read other of her Highlander series too. I just finished Jennifer Blake's By Grace Possessed which takes place during the time of Henry VII. It was really good too. Previously, I read all of her "Master of Arms" series and one of her very early works which also took place in the Louisiana bayou in the early 1800's. However, now I think I need to move into the present day for awhile.
Have a great weekend everyone! Those of you in PA, I hope you are safe tonight as I know you're under a tornado watch and seem to have had nothing but severe weather for that last couple of weeks.
Trudy
