Sandi - This is Maggie's second time at sleepaway camp. She went last year for 2 nights, this year it is three nights. After she was very nervous the two nights before, she just seemed excited when I dropped her off, no tears at all. Luke hasn't gone yet, but he is two years younger than Maggie. I am trying to get him to do boy scouts, but no interest so far.
Mary - I have been trying to get my daughter to try lasagne - I'm like you like spaghetti and meatballs and cheese - but she is not sure about it all together. My kids are not casserole kids - bummer as I love casseroles. Maggie has been in girl scouts for 4 years now. She likes some parts of it, but doesn't always like the drama that 15 girls create. :) I enjoy the Maisie Dobbs books, but at times do have a tough time pushing through them. A bit too much angst.
DonnaH- The kids started on Sept 1st. They don't get a lot of mid year breaks - we use to get three days in October and a long weekend in the winter. Both were taken away this year. Next year, we do get back the long weekend in February, but the days in October I swear are now just random "scheduling" days, which aren't as easy to deal with as a nice long weekend.
Dropped Maggie off yesterday, she seemed happy. She is there with three other friends, which seemed perfect. Then Luke and I headed out to his baseball game. He hit really well, two hits and the last one he had contact on. So he was happy. Now it is just the three of us for the rest of the week. Started a Carla Kelly book - Marriage of Mercy or something. It is the first time I have read this author, but it got a lot of good reviews.
Hope everyone has a great Wednesday.
Cady
