Thursday

Yesterday I got to leave work about noon.  I went to Bn and read on my nook for a bit, but as I keep forgetting my sweater, and places like to be cool I decided to head home after about 30 or 45 minutes.  Brian had an appointment with one of his therapists so I had the house to me and the dogs.  I should have been productive, but I decided a nap was the order of the day!  I put a load of laundry in, made the bed, found a throw, and took a nap!  I did end up eventually getting several loads of laundry washed, folded, and put away.  The last load which was towels is still waiting to get folded.  I also made dinner...pork chops, and that was all after my long nap!

I'm sure the rules are pretty much the same all over the states, but not sure in Canada...our kids have to go to school 180 days in order to get their money from whatever government agencies they get it from.  Kids have to be in school by 10:30 in order to be counted for the day.  Half days have to be a certain amount of hours in order to count for the money.  We start school before Labor Day and get out the week of Memorial Day. They would like to push the start of school back until after Labor Day, but that seems to be getting a lot of flack for various reasons, and I've not heard more about it...but that could be because my kids aren't in school anymore! I know they get a day off to attend the state fair, and that turns into a four day weekend as another day is used as a teacher inservice.  They do get 3 days for Thanksgiving.  2 weeks for Christmas, a week for Spring Break. A 4 day weekend for Easter, and various other days here and there.  Early release does tend to be limited to the time before Christmas and right before the end of the year, and I can't help but wonder if that has more to do with the busing, and our system's staggered start times.

Is Luke liking the alone time, or does he miss Maggie?

Take Care!
Sandi
