Surprise! 6/5/2012...

Hi Everyone,

I wasn't sure if I would be able to check in but here I am!!!  I'm in Medford, OR. at my cousin Bev's.  Right now she is at the gym for her workout so I sat down to play at the computer.

First of all, my "rash" that isn't a rash is almost gone.  I'm delighted, but it is a little itchy since it is clearing up but not to bad.

So far the trip has been pretty unevenful which is mostly a good thing.  :-)  My friend Pat had a yummy dinner the night I stayed with her.  We had fresh salmon caught by her friend that lives with her, there was also a nice tossed green salad & corn on the cob.  Later Tim fixed us all strawberry shortcake.  I didn't head for Medford until late morning, stopped in Crescent City, a small town right on the coast, for my coffee fix at Starbucks & then headed inland.  It was stormy, rained a lot, was very windy at times but not much traffic so a very easy drive.  I got lost when I was going to my cousins!  I have not lived in Medford for over 40 years & the changes are enormous.  Mostly of those 40 years I was not driving around town much because of where my Mom lived & where my brother lives which is about 25 miles out.  Anyway, I took a turn a block to soon coming to her house & wasn't sure where to go at this one intersection.  I pulled into the parking lot at a mall & called, said "I'm lost"!!  Boy it felt stupid.  She just laughed, drove down to meet me so I could follow her home.  I was so close!!  It was funny.  Now I have refreshed my memory & can get here okay.  I will probably go see my brother tomorrow unless that is not a good day for him.  Sunday I will head to my daughter's in Eugene.  The weather here is more like winter which is feeling a bit chilly as when I left home Sunday morning it was up in the 60's before 10 in the morning.  Befor I arrived yesterday they had thunder, lightening & hail, rain too!!

The picture above is a rock formation along the highway in Arizona.  I'll have to see if I have a picture of my cousin & I from a previous trip.

Donna H, did you get your hair fixed for church?  I'm glad you enjoyed meeting Kaylee/Linda.  It would be so fun to meet any of you if that ever happens.

Amanda,  is your ankle doing okay?  I hate those little problems.  Take care of yourself.

Margie, that Candy Cane Inn sounds like a good deal.  You make me want to go to Disneyland...again!  But then again there are a lot of other places I want to go to that I have never seen.  Decisions, decisions!

I need to go call my brother before the day gets any later.  Great to "chat" with all of you.  I'll be back when I can.

Since I don't have an Oregon picture to post here is one at Bryce National Park.  Another of the wonderful parks we have.

Take care, happy reading,
Donna M
