Hi Everyone,
Mary, Gavin did try to get to the bathroom faucet for a while but I was able to get him to understand that it was off limits for him. During our bbq, we had to take the handle off the faucet outside because he kept turning the water on and people were in danger of getting soaked.
DonnaH, Thanks for the tip on the ribs. I can't imagine having a bbq every day in the summer but that must be really nice. Yum. Your planter sounds so cute. I started writing my reads since around 2004 but this last year was so crazy busy that I stopped and haven't started again. Regarding the Latino thing. Latino basically refers to Spanish speaking people that are from or descendants from Latin American countries which are many. So basically it is referring to a people/group. It is not a race/nationality. The word Hispanic is also used in the same way. Some people consider Hispanic to represent Spaniards who are European. Anyway, I know I'm not explaining it well and there is a lot of discussion and debate on the use of those two words which I am not really interested in. Personally, I don't care if someone refers to me as a Hispanic or a Latino. As for documents that ask for my nationality/race, I always fill in the one that says Mexican American. If someone were to ask me what race I am, I would say Mexican since my parents are of Mexican race even though they were born in the USA. It is really crazy how they expect people to be able to fill out a form with that answer when there are so many mixed race people.
DonnaM, I love to skim and re-read books even if it is just the last few chapters. Those are perfect for vacation times that don't allow for sitting with a new book. I have tried to take new books thinking I am going to have time to lounge around or read at night but I'm so busy and then so tired that there is just no time to get into something new. But an old friend is great to read in bits. I hope you start feeling better and that rash doesn't give you any troubles on your trip.
Trudy, I'm so sorry about your kids. That is just not right. At least you can be sure your grandson will enjoy the gift since that is what he asked for. Yikes on all that work needing to be done on you a/c. It doesn't sound good. I'm going keep your need in my prayers.
I am still on the same book. I was online all night looking for hotels for our Disney trip and didn't get any reading done. I'm not sure what father book I will read for June. I have a book on hold that I might be able to call my father book but I'm not sure if the hold will come in on time. I might have to run to KMart for a Harlequin with a dad on the cover.
Tomorrow I'm going to the movies to see Snow White and the Huntsman. It looks really good. I'll let you know what I think. Have a good Saturday!
Margie :)
