I finally finished Born in Shame. I don't know why it was called that except to give it a flashy name so people might choose to read it. Frankly, if it hadn't been part of a series I started, I would never have chosen to read it on it's own. I was very disappointed in it actually. He pushed, she yelled, and then they fell into "bed" (a blanket in the pasture) Then he pushed some more, she yelled some more, and they fell into bed again. And over, and over, and. . . Her two sisters from the first two books were in there off and on, but the book was the boringest book I've ever read of Nora's. I just got the notice that Born in Ice is finally waiting for me at the library. Guess I'll pick it up tomorrow.
I started The Marine Next Door by Julie Miller. It's an Intrigue. I'm almost half done it already. Is it ever good!
I learned today that my grandson got the grade 10 Math Award. He's the one who's the only one in the school to ace the grade 8 math exam. He's the one who fixes my computer for me when it goes crazy. My other grade 8 granddaughter gets her awards on the 27th. She gets an honors award for sure, and she thinks she might get -- I forget what she called it -- highest honors, or something, for having an average over 89. She also passed her grade 6 piano exam with a 97.9 or something around there.
These kids scare me, they're so smart. I just hope they can still be smart when life sneaks up on them as they get older.
It's time to go put my feet up on the couch and watch Sue Thomas. . .
