TGIF, 6/1/2012...

Happy June 1 & TGIF to all of You,

It is going to be a warm one here up into the 90's, real summer like weather!  This picture at the Grand Canyon is looking down into the canyon to the Colorado River.  It doesn't look like much by October as there has been no rain for sometime.  I've seen pictures of the river raging in the spring as snow melts & the water is high.  That is very different than what it is in the picture.

Well, my rash is not really a rash from what the doctor said.  He thinks it is actually under the skin & not anything to be concerned about.  The two medical names he gave me are (if I'm reading his writing correctly!) Vasculitis or Small Petechiae or maybe Petechine.  I swear doctors take a class in illegible writing!!  I worked in a pharmacy for a few months & got quite good at reading the scribbles but that was many, many years ago.  Yesterday in the heat it got worse but looks pretty much this same this morning.  Anyway he said I could put a cold cloth on it that would probably help & to make sure I moisturize.  It is probably going to clear up on its own but if not come see him after my trip then he would run some blood test to investigate further.  It is definitely not poison oak, flea bites or a different soap, laundry detergent or whatever.  One of life's little mysteries.  He also told me not to look those up online as I would be upset by some of the symptoms of the problem!!!  He made me laugh & we also talked about his recent trip to Mexico.  He was in the area where the Mayan ruins are & they are not worried about the world ending this year.  He said they don't even mention it.  Just thought I would throw that out!!  He was at the place where the Mayan calendar was discovered.

My dinner last night with my friends was so much fun.  My friend from Vermont looks much the same but a bit older (aren't we all!) & a bit heavier than when she lived here.  We talked a lot.  The place we went was very busy, very noisy but the food was pretty good, service very good.  After dinner we sat at the table quite awhile but then moved inside of the mall where they have lots of chairs & couches in groupings so people can sit down.  We sat at one where no one else was & talked until around 8:30 before we all headed away.  Val doesn't like driving at night, especially in an area that she is not familiar with so she wanted to get to where she was going before dark.  Hope she did okay.  She has been gone 8 years & there have been lots of changes that she has not seen.  Great evening, the best kind.  I took my camera but forgot all about it & did not get a picture of the 3 of us.  Darn!

This morning I finished reading Lucky in Love by Jill Shalvis.  It was very good, has some really funny moments & some tender ones also.  This is a Lucky Harbor book there are 2 more coming out this year.  I think I will take rereads for my trip as reading is not the goal!!  I still need reading material though for going to bed at night & times when I have a little quiet!!!

I must get my laundry going & some other chores accomplished.  I have to get to the post office with my "hold my mail" form & to mail my mail in ballot as election day is Tuesday!  In all the years I have been able to vote I've only missed voting a time or two.

Another picture as I say good bye today.   This is along Arizona Hwy. #89 after we left Williams, AZ. where we stayed to visit the Grand Canyon.  A lot of nothing yet interesting because of course it is something!!!

Enjoy your Friday & the weekend.  I will post tomorrow but not Sunday as I will head north in the morning.

Happy reading,
Donna M
