Good Almost Afternoon my Friends... (I started at 11:59 am)

It is warm here, it was already warm about 8 o'clock this morning!  Not looking forward to this afternoon.  I woke up early enough to get a walk in when I thought it would be cooler!!  It wasn't!  As I said in an earlier post our climate here is pretty mild/moderate but we do get these hot spells.  Somehow 90 in April is just to early to be so warm but not that unusual.  It is so hard to explain to people that are not from around here how diverse the climate can be.  San Francisco can have 70, we can have 90, the coast might be 55!  They call it micro climates.  Remember San Francisco is only 70 miles away & the coast is probably about 45 or so.  It keeps life interesting.  Trudy, I can relate to you being a weather geek as due to the diverse climates around this area it is always interesting to see what is going on.  I believe it will be cooling down some next week.  I just want to survive today & tomorrow!!  :-)

Just to lighten it up a bit here is a picture from my nature photography hike last Saturday.  I love how I caught the reflections in this pond.  I have yet to see it when it isn't muddy!  One of these days I will.

Tomorrow I am going to a library book sale.  This is a big one that is done by the libraries in Santa Rosa where the main library for the county is.  It is really a huge sale that is very well laid out so it is easy to find the type of books or subject matter you are interested in.  I don't usually buy a lot but I always find some good bargains.  After the book sale I will pick up some things I forgot the other day or simply put off because I knew I would be there again on Saturday.  Other than that I have no plans over the weekend.  I do need to do laundry tomorrow when I get back home.  I will be taking off my winter sheets & putting on the summer ones!  I really should have done it last week but foolishly did not.  Oh well!

This morning I finished reading Sunset Bridge by Emilie Richards.  I enjoyed this a great deal.  It is more women's fiction than romance although there are several love stories involved.  The book is about the friendship of four women becoming friends while being there when needed in their lives.  I think I might have read the books out of order but I thought this was the first one.  I'll have to check out Emilie's website again to see what I think.

I was curious if anyone else here in the group follows a blog or blogs on a regular basis.  You have all seen me mention over the last few years that I visit Jill Shalvis blog everyday which usually injects some humor into my morning.  The others that I follow are the Plotmonkeys.  They are Janelle Denison, Julie Leto, Leslie Kelly & Carly Phillips all authors I love reading.  Both Jill & the Plotmonkeys do give aways.  I find that authors in general seem to be very generous to their readers.  There is one more, the Blaze authors.  If anyone is interested I encourage you to check them out.  The Blaze authors do a lot of give aways also.  I have been lucky enough to win more than once from each of them.

It is time to do something about lunch.  When it gets hot like this I still like to eat but don't like to cook!  I'm thinking a big salad sounds good for dinner, maybe even a shrimp salad..

Everyone have a good Friday!  TGIF to those of you working.  :-)
Happy Reading,
Donna
