Happy Monday, 4/30/2012...
Good Morning Everyone,
Yes it is still morning here as I start this post. I'm going to go for my walk once I finish the post.
The above picture was taken from the winery with the garden, the pool & fountains are to the right of this picture. The gardens are behind where I took the picture. I've only tried one panorama picture with this camera, something I need to play around with!
Margie, you are right these gardens would be beautiful for a wedding but I don't believe they have them there. There is no place in the garden for chairs for the guests. There are numerous wineries in both Sonoma & Napa counties that have created wedding venues. There are a lot of very beautiful places around here to have a wedding but they cost the earth! I think one of the wineries charges something like $8,000 just to use the facilities. That fee does not cover any other cost of having the wedding there. I worked with someone that had her wedding at one when she told me how much it was I almost had a heart attack! Crazy in my book. I have actually attended a couple of weddings at some of these locations. It is really beautiful.
Amanda, glad to see you stopping by. Hope you get caught up. I'm happy you have a job to go to. Maybe it will be a good week.
Trudy sent me an email last night. I answered & asked where she is as she has not posted here recently. She is having some kind of trouble with her laptop & accessing our blog. Hope she gets it solved. She said to tell you all she is still kicking!!
These are the gates into the winery with the gardens that I have been posting. This picture was taken either Christmas Day or New Years Day as it is rare the gates are closed. The wineries are open almost everyday except for those major holidays. I've been trying to take pictures of gates as it is interesting seeing all the different types. Some of the gates are very ornamental like this one but still functional & others are very plain, only functional. As I've said before it is such a beautiful but diverse area.
I'm going to sign off & go for my walk. Hope you all have a wonderful day. Read a good book!
Happy reading,
Donna M
