Hi Everyone,

I didn't get a chance to post a message before I headed off on my shopping in Santa Rosa.  Today is payday which means I need to stock up on things.  Getting paid once a month is a challenge!  I always have a long list of necessities.   It was not a fun shopping trip but I did get most things accomplished.  Gas is down to $4.05 a gallon at COSTCO.  Terrible to think that is "low"!  I'd much happier to see it go back to under $3 but I think it is unlikely.

Cady, thanks for the compliment on the pictures.  Which of your kids is playing baseball?  Time flies, it doesn't seem possible they are old enough to be playing sports.  That will keep you busy.

Mary, I have Hot Zone on my TBR shelf, maybe I will make that my next read.  Right now I am reading a library book.  Today I have read very little but will this evening.  Tomorrow it is laundry & a haircut.

I'm glad Margie found her way to us.  It will be good to keep in touch with her.

Sandi, I hope your work week improves.  I am not happy with parents at times at what they let their children get away with.  It seems they are afraid to say no & mean it.  My parents disciplined us with no ill affects.

Tonight is a movie night for me as there is nothing on Wednesday TV that I enjoy watching.  I have a Biography on Tom Hanks to watch.  I thought it sounded interesting.  He is a favorite of mine.  When he would guest on the Oprah show he always just seemed so normal & genuine.  He grew up in Oakland across the bay from San Francisco so he is a "hometown" boy!

I just heard on the news that Dick Clark has passed away.  I had not heard any news all day so that was a surprise.  New Year's Eve will never be the same.  They are showing some of the early American Bandstand clips.  They showed Bill Haley doing Rock Around The Clock, loved that music.  My Mom always said she wanted that played at her funeral.  My brother didn't know that so it didn't happen.  He made the arrangements.  If I hear that music it makes me think of her.

Everyone have a good evening.  I'm wiped out from my shopping & the fact that it is warming up.  It was into the high 70's & suppose to get much warmer up into the high 80's.  Ugh!  I'm just not not ready for heat!!  I think 70-75 is the ideal temperature.

I will leave you with a picture.

These roots will give you a bit of an idea how large a redwood tree is.  I'll post a picture of more of the tree another time.
Happy Reading,
Donna M
