This pastoral scene is from the drive my daughter & I took on Easter Sunday. It was so beautiful, peaceful we just had to stop to take some pictures. There were little lambs, a dog watching over all of them, it was just such a typical rural scene. She has a new to her camera that her dad (he use to be a professional photographer) gave her when she went to Oregon to visit him. She is learning how to use the camera & we both like taking pictures. I suppose part of that is because of him. I'll post another picture further down of the Redwoods in the park we went to.
What is the Rita Challenge you are all talking about. Something our group is doing or is it a challenge from somewhere else?
DonnaH, is doesn't sound like your ride yesterday was much fun. Some times it just turns out that way. I cannot manage to read in a moving vehicle except on an airplane! Cars, trucks or whatever just have to much movement for me plus I like looking out the window at the scenery. Also since I am usually driving it isn't possible!! When I'm not driving it is usually a short time in the car with others which means we are talking. When I travel I always have a book with so I can read when I stop to eat or to take a short break.
Yesterday after I posted my message I ended up making cookies. They are yummy!! Thankfully not a large batch as I really don't need them. I wanted to make my special chocolate chip cookies that are from a recipe a chef developed. He was on a TV show & kindly shared the recipe with viewers. Anyway, when I was gathering ingredients I realized I had no eggs. That stopped me for a bit but I thought I had a recipe that used no eggs! I was right!! I made Oatmeal Extravaganzas. They are fairly easy & quick & have some flexibility as far as what you put in the cookies. Instead of just the chocolate chips the recipe calls for I added vanilla chips also & used brandy instead of water. They are tasty if I do say so myself. If anyone wants the recipe let me know. It is in the Nestle Toll House Recipe Collection book that I have. I've been using it many years.
Mary I would love to see new pictures of the grandkids. Hope you can figure out how to post them. It took me a few tries. Some of it may depend on where your pictures are stored. When you click on the photo link above it does give you several choices of where to import the pictures from. Once I got it figured out it is pretty easy. One thing I haven't figured out is if I can make the pictures smaller as mine are fairly large.
Trudy I have never had air conditioning. My apartment is upstairs, gets sun all day & is miserable when it warms up. I do have a couple of fans but they just move around hot air. These apartments should really provide some cool air for people living here. You can put in a small window unit but it has to be done by a professional that the management approves of. One lady paid $300 which I thought was over priced for installation. Since I'm on the second floor it would really have to be done right. An expense I just don't feel like putting out as there are many other ways I need or want to spend money. The goal now is to get the tires paid for!! I wish you luck on yours as I hate the thoughts of you suffering in the Florida humidity.
Okay, I've chatted on & on! Here is another picture just to finish out the message. This one was also on Easter Sunday but is in the park we went to which was so beautiful that day. The redwoods are just so magnificent & so tall they are impossible to get in a picture with my camera! Enjoy! Thanks to all for all the compliments. It is fun to share these with you.
Everyone have a great day!
Happy reading,
Donna M
