Hi Everyone,
I hope I haven't posted this picture before!! I was looking for something cool because it is hot here. Once my apartment gets warmed up it doesn't cool down easily. This is way up in the hills but looking over to the east. This is about as close as I can get to snow here!!! Right now that sounds soooo good. If I could I'd head over to the coast, but funds are tight right now & gas is going up & up. That sure makes you think before you head out for a pleasure drive.
Margie, I hope you get the problem with your computer solved. They can be such a mystery at times!! So far I have enjoyed both books in Nora Roberts Boonsboro Inn series. I'm looking forward to the next one. I hope you can take your Dad out for his birthday. Today is my brother's 60th birthday!! My baby brother, sure makes me feel old. Mine is next week. Did you get to go to the new Cars Land when you were at Disneyland?
Donna H, thanks for the reminder on how to pronounce Sadhbh's name. I never seem to get it right. I love Roxanne St. Clair's books. When I went to RWA I got to meet her. She is great in person.
I read a very good book, Until Tuesday by Fmr. Capt. Luis Carlos Montalvan. What a story he had to tell. He served in the US Army for 17 years, two deployments to Iraq. He was injured on the the first deployment more severely than he realized. The Army should have insisted he was examined better & he should have paid more attention to his injuries. Tuesday is his service dog. The story is about his injuries, his PTSD & TBI. I now have a much better understanding of PTSD what some of the symptoms are. Any one that has served probably has some degree of this (that is my own opinion). It is quite different than what I thought. His dog Tuesday has enabled him to recover a great deal and function more normally but he still has quite a long way to go. Some parts of the book are difficult to read but I do recommend it. Isn't he a beautiful dog?
I think this catches me up for now. Oh, remember my friend that I got to see from Vermont?. I got an early birthday card from her today with the sad news that her father just passed away. Never an easy thing. It doesn't sound like her mom is doing to well. Her parents have been married a long time as my friend is in her early 60's.
Good night for now. It is getting too warm sitting here in front of the computer. It throws out a lot of heat!
Happy reading,
Donna M
