Happy Friday, 8/17/2012

Good Afternoon Everyone,

After posting this I need to get myself over to where I am pet sitting.  This is just a short one as they will be back Sunday early afternoon.  They are attending a wedding.  The above picture is my granddaughter at one of the wineries.  She wanted a new picture for her Facebook page & other social sites!  She is a cutie!  Of course I might be a slight bit biased.  :-)

Sandi & Donna H, thanks for the belated birthday wishes.  It is always nice to be remembered.  At one time I had birthdays for all of us but I've lost that list.  Please include your birthday in your next post so I can compile a list.  It would be nice to receive good wishes when that date rolls around for each of us.  Thanks.

After reading the Elizabeth Lowell book I needed something much lighter.  I picked up a Blaze that had two short stories in it.  Title is:  Blazing Bedtime Stories, Volume VII.  Both stories good enjoyed each for what they were.  The authors were Rhonda Nelson, I always enjoy her work, it was a military hero.  The other one was kind of funny by Tawny Weber about a dog that had been kidnapped, the object of a divorce custody battle!!!  The dog was one of the ugly Chinese Crested  breed.  Those dogs are sad to look at!!  It was a fun quick read after the suspense & drama in Beautiful Sacrifice.

Donna H, glad to hear that your daughter's shoulder is doing better.  Keep us posted.  If your wiener roast was outside in the backyard why worry about the house?!!  That would be my take!  I hope it was fun & that all went well with the grand kids.  Your parents being married for 68 years is very impressive.  I'm sorry to hear your mom is failing.  It is something we don't find easy to deal with.  Saying good bye is just never easy.  If you remember why Healdsburg was in the news let me know.

Sandi,  I like your cabinets.  Very nice looking.  How wonderful to have all that space.  Lucky you having Jill Shalvis as the call in author.  I just love her & her books.  You all may remember I got to meet her when RWA was in San Francisco.  Her humor in books is what first attracted me.

Cady,  interesting that school pictures are done before.  I don't recall ever seen that happen anywhere around here.  I can see the advantages of it.  Enjoy your weekend.  School is starting up at some places around this area or getting ready to start.  When my girls were in school it never started until after Labor Day.  How times change!

Friends, I need to get myself over to see to the pets!  I'm sure they are probably all asleep!  I just like to get my stuff over there & get settled in.  There won't be as much since it is such a short time.  Petaluma, a larger town about 40-45 miles from me is making the news as one of their Little League teams is in the Little League World Series in Pennsylvania.  Everyone around Sonoma county is so excited for them.  They won the first game, the next game is Sunday.  It is being broadcast on one of the stations in San Francisco since the team is from the bay area.  It is very exciting!

Have a great weekend.  Happy reading!

The grand kids imitating the statue behind them.  It is the same winery where the other picture was taken.
