Tuesday

Yesterday they started the work on laying the new ceramic tile.  They pulled up the lineoleum in the kitchen, breakfast nook, one bathroom, and the laundry room.  They discovered some rotten floorboards, some potentially rotten walls, and one wall that is definitely rotted.  They also discovered that the valves that lead from the water lines to the washer are bad, and therefore they had to shut off the main line to the house.  I had to call a plumber to see if they could come ASAP because without we'd have been waterless!

Fortunately the plumber came within a couple of hours, and we now have water!  They decided the one wall was probably ok, and not to worry too much about it, but the other wall needs to be rebuilt.  They were supposed to call me with a name, but they never did, so I'll have to ask today if they discovered anything.

I am a member of Angie's List but I'm not really having a lot of luck with it, because it seems that the people who are on Angie's List only want to do high end jobs, and I'm just not a high end job!  Now I think I'll wait until I get the walls checked out.  It's scary, frustrating, annoying...what other adjectives can I add?

I overslept this morning because someone changed the alarm, and while I thought I checked I must not have!  That means I hopped out of bed, brushed my teeth, and ran out the door.  I didn't get a shower, and I might not get one tomorrow because of having to not be on the floor, so I'm not really thrilled, but will deal!
