Today I took my silverplate flatware, etc. to a place and sold it plus my high school ring. It hurts to let the ring go; I loved that ring but my finger has gotten too big to wear it. When I was polishing the silver last night, I discovered that one piece is really interesting. Indeed, the man said that it is coined silver, predating sterling silver and offered me $30 for a serving spoon which is worn at the bottom! It dates from 1830 besides and has initials of an ancestor I never heard of. I didn't sell it, yet. With money from the glassware, the loan from Ireland and the silver, I still owe the atty $1100 before he'll do anything for me. Next week, when my Social Security comes in, I'll take another $200 to him and then.......? I did go online and look up my Pfaltzgraff which went out of production in 1987 at Replacements, Inc. They are selling my cookie jar online for $75! Of course, what they'd pay me for it would be a lot less.
I really enjoyed Lone Star Surrender. For a Blaze, it had a lot of suspense in it and, of course, a lot of sex. I like Blaze better when there's more to the storyline than sex. Yesterday, when I worked at the library, I got out Tara Road by Maeve Binchy, the acclaimed Irish author who passed away Tuesday. She's also a new-to-me author. I will let you know what I think of it later as I've only just started it.
I missed the opening of the Olympics! :( When I went online to fine the part with James Bond and the Queen, all the clips have been removed by the IOC! BUMMER!!!!! All the parts of the events I've seen too have been the athletes messing up also. Can't win!
Sandi~~Are you sure you weren't bitten by a spider or something on your wrist? Sounds like it to me but if it happens again, please get thee to a doctor asap.
Still think it was overkill with Penn State and I'm not an alumnus either. They didn't need to strip the wins; it wasn't fair to the kids who went out and played their hearts out; they will be carrying that stigma with them the rest of their lives now.
The authors who went to the RWA sound like they had a blast there. They've all been tweeting and posting about it. I know that when I went to the book signing in Orlando a couple of years ago, how much fun it was so I'm sure it was a blast!
Just saw the US womens' rowing win the gold! Yes! Guess I'll have to go and watch!
