T.G.I.F. 8/10/2012...

Hi Friends,

Happy Friday to all!  At this point I don't remember what I've posted from my trip last October & what I haven't.  If there are repeats I apologize!!  This is me on the trail to the Emerald Pools at Zion National Park.  Someone else on the trail offered to take the picture.  I may have taken a picture for them also.  I never mind taking a picture for someone so both or all of them are in it.  Beside that way you get to visit briefly with someone, find out where they are from etc.  It is part of the fun of traveling.

Trudy, I congratulate you on getting people to sign up to vote.  I think it is so important.  So many people feel it is useless but it is the chance we have to make our voice heard.  You will have to let us know if you meet anyone interesting.  I'm sure it is going to be interesting when the Republican convention is in the area.  You can keep us posted about that also.  I hope after all that you have gone through to get the money, your lawyer actually accomplishes something for you.  Last night, I think!, I saw on the news that conditions are right this year for a nasty hurricane season.  Hopefully your area will stay safe.

Margie, I am glad you were able to take your dad out with no real problems.  That was probably enjoyable for everyone, especially him.  Three hours in Cars Land, way to long with young children or adults!  I'm not surprised though since it is a new attraction.  The weather is on TV, it is just hot all over except along the coast!  Hope you are doing okay as I know it really warms up in your area.  Thanks for explaining it is not your computer.  I did misunderstand.  My granddaughter showed me something while she was here but I don't think I remember how to do what we did!!!  She told me to call her if I have a problem & she would walk me through it.

Since it was so hot yesterday I did quite a bit of reading.  I did also manage to get some laundry done or I would have been in trouble today when I got dressed!!!  More laundry today, sheets & towels then I am done until next week.  I have not watched much of the Olympics the last couple of nights as I just kind of got burned out on them.  Last night I did have them on for awhile then watched a program, Rookie Blue.  They had a to be continued story going on.  I think there is more to come.  They better not leave it where it ended last night!  Tonight is the 49'ers first pre-season football game.  It is too hot for football although not to bad where they are as the stadium is right on the water.  In fact they showed the temps for game time, beginning will be around 68 then dropping down to 61.  Sounds heavenly to me!  I will probably watch some of it.

Sandi, my birthday is Monday.  I had forgotten Brian's is the day before.  He was to old when we first met on eHarlequin.  Time flies!  Enjoy your new bathroom with all the shiny new fixtures, floor, etc.  Owning a house is a constant upkeep.  It seems if you let anything slide it costs way more than if you did it in the beginning.  I want to read those two books by Robyn Carr.  I've read some of her other older books which I enjoyed.  The Virgin River series is one of my very favorites, she just has a gift.  Enjoy that windbreaker, how fun to have that.  Thanks for alerting us to the Fresh Fiction contest everyday.  I've entered each one.  On Monday the 13th Carly Phillips & Lauren Dane are doing a combined give away that includes their books & a Kindle Fire.  That is a super prize.

Does anyone have interesting weekend plans?  I'm just going to try not to melt.  Tomorrow morning I will go to Farmer's Market then try to keep somewhat cool the rest of the day!

Good bye for now.  Have a great weekend.  Here is a picture from my trip.  You can get a size perspective in this one seeing how small those people look.  This is the path to the Narrows in Zion National Park.  This is actually going away from the Narrows.  It was nice & cool in this area along the Virgin River.

Happy reading,
Donna M
