I didn't realize that I've been missing for so long! Sorry people, I do miss you all! Guess it's because my life is just so much fun right now (notice my nose growing long at a rapid rate here). Selling my belongings is really hard, you're right about that; I did love my class ring as it was simple and pretty. The silver plate hurt too but I can buy back my grandmothers' glassware which makes that hurt a little less than it would have otherwise. I don't know what to do about the Pfaltzgraff as Replacements, Inc will only pay me a fraction of what they'd sell it for, I'm sure, and then there are the shipping costs which would be pretty high. I might be better off selling it for a few hundred dollars through the throw-away merchandiser here.
I'm pretty distracted and do dumb things all the time so please pardon me if I do or say something stupid. I'm pretty sure this has made my generalized epilepsy act up but thank God for the meds and my VNS.
Please ask her to join our group! I really enjoyed it when she was part of our group before. When I went to France four years ago, I wanted to hook up with her but I wasn't going to be close to where she lives. Major bummer!
Cady~~I didn't realize that you lived in Minneapolis. What happened there is so tragic and so senseless! Following so closely on the heels of the shooting in CO, I hope that people in this country wake up and realize just how easy it is to buy guns here and do something about it. We need to develop more tolerance for all beliefs.
Sandi~~I'm glad that your hand hasn't given you any more trouble. Sounds as if you have a major home renovation project going on though.
In two weeks, the Republican National Convention comes to Tampa. It will bring thousands of people to this area and millions of dollars into the economy. It will also create a hugemongeous headache for everyone in the Tampa Bay area. We are all cringing already. We've been told where we can't go, what we can't do, how much it will cost and why we're paying for it, how many strippers are being brought in to service the convention goers, which protest groups can go where, etc, etc, etc. And the tropics are finally heating up. Thankfully I don't live in either Tampa or St. Petersburg, the other city involved but convention goers will be housed at Innisbrook which is only about 5 miles from here. Gonna be interesting!
I've been enjoying the Olympics, especially the track events which, in the past, I found boring. Go figure! Loved the mens' and womens' sprints and races of any lengths, hurdles, too. Liked the finale of the womens' beach volleyball too, rowing, swimming, kayaking. Today I was on the edge of my seat with the gold medal match of the womens' football/soccer match!
Well, I must go to bed; I need to do a voter registration drive tomorrow. I love doing them; you meet such interesting people. Also need to go pay the lawyer more money; then I'll have less than $1K to come up with. No lawyer here will touch you until you pay them the full amount. Florida may look nice but it's a very hard to live in!
