DonnaM - Sorry to hear about your friend's dog. Last year, the woman watching our kids had to put down her dog while my kids were with her - devasting for everyone. Congrats on your daughter climbing 11,000 feet. I know that is farther than I could make it. I imagine the views were amazing. As for Irish Fest, we do go every year. This year, we just went once, which for us was unusual. However, it is pretty expensive, so we normally go Friday, when they have a reduced admission and Sunday, when if you go to Mass it is free. Since we had free tickets for the Brewers Game, we decided to do that instead.
Mary - How funny you mentioned the Gaslight series, I picked that one up from the library last week. I haven't started it yet, but it looks interesting. I also haven't read the Vicki Bliss books by Elizabeth Peters, I am still reading the Amelia Peabody books by her, I think I am on book 13 in the series now and I believe there are 20 in the series, so it will be a bit before I get to Vicki :). Our school is like yours and requires the Sept 1 deadline. Maggie is an August birthday and is one of the youngest girls in the class (there is another August birthday with her). It is odd as her best friend was born at the end of September and so they are almost a year apart.
DonnaH - Glad to hear that your daughter is doing well. What a pain to have to wear the guards, but if they relieve the pain, I imagine they are worth it. My birthday is March 30.
Took the kids to the library to pick up their reading bonuses (if you read so many books, they give you coupons to different attractions) We already missed the State Fair, but will use some of the others I imagine. Still reading the Elizabeth Peters book - The Golden One, it is a longer book (about 600 pages). Hopefully, I will finish it up today. Hope everyone has a great day.
Cady
