Monday afternoon

Hi guys! I had a lot of posts to catch up on but I did take notes so here goes:

Donna M--Happy Birthday! I hope you are enjoying your day and doing things you like to do. Happy b-day to your brother also. I know what you mean when my baby brother turned 50 it made me feel old. That book you read Until Tuesday sounds very good. I am going to check to see if our library has it. They just did a newspaper article about a vet in our area who suffers from PTS and the struggles he and his family deal with on a daily basis. I continue to enjoy all your photos. I watched that episode of Rookie Blue. There is a second part which I watched on On Demand last night.

Donna H--I remember Sadhbh and the amazing number of books she read! I hope she joins us here. I am glad to hear you enjoyed the Angelinos. I would also love to read a story with Gabe as the hero. I have read some of the Bear Claw books and enjoyed them.

Cady--it was sad hearing about yet another shooting of innocents. It is good to have things to keep our mind off these things that we see on the news. I really liked What Angels Fear and will definitely be continuing the series. Loved the pictures of your kiddos!

Sandi--happy birthday to Brian and your brother. Can't believe Brian is 20! That is cool about your brother's art show. I hear you about putting stuff off in your house. We have been in ours almost 25 years and are procrastinating getting things done. Enjoy all the new stuff in your house. I have Gone Girl on reserve at the library and I am looking forward to reading it.

Margie--I have also fallen asleep watching the Olympics! I am glad you were able to take your dad out for his birthday. What a treat for all of you. Happy belated birthday to him. We had to reprogram our printer when we got a wireless keyboard. Printers are very fragile. :-(

Trudy--glad to see you stopped in. I don't envy your area the mess the convention will cause. Sorry you are having to sell so many of your treasures. That is hard to do.

Amanda--the Phils are still keeping it interesting. You never know what the next game will bring. I too enjoyed all of Mary Carillo's reports from the Olympics. She does have a cool job. Wuthering Heights is a book that is a challenge to read. I read it twice (once in h.s. and once in college) because I had too. I did watch the original movie by choice. Some of the classics are fun to read but most are dry or boring or depressing.

I watched a lot of the Olympics, even the late night stuff. I enjoyed them but am glad to get back to a more normal schedule. I finished reading What Angels Fear and really liked it. I am now reading Animal Dreams by Barbara Kingsolver and am enjoying it. I will tell you more about it when I finish. Don and I also celebrated our 39th anniversary last week. We went out to dinner and were planning to also go to the movies but put it off till this week. Anniversaries always make me reflective. We have been through a lot together. That's what happens when you have a long marriage. We still enjoy being together and doing things we always loved to do like dinner and the movies. We enjoy watching sports too but that is usually when we argue. Mostly we love being grandparents.

Well that catches me up for now. I hope everyone has a good week and you are reading good books!

Mary
