Monday, almost afternoon, May 7, 2012...

Hello to All, Happy Monday...

This is a picture of the beautiful Ahwahnee Hotel in Yosemite National Park.  It has quite a history.  When I went to Yosemite with my friend Dusty we had lunch there on the patio, just beautiful.  We walked all around in the hotel in the public rooms, it is old & historical.  Queen Elizabeth II has stayed there.  Look at that view!  It would be awesome to stay there but I think rooms start around $300 a night!!!!  Too much for my budget, even when I had more income!  It was fun eating lunch although it was nothing special & wasn't cheap.  Of course everything has to be trucked in, Yosemite is not in a populated area so that is part of the expense.  The patio was just off the bar which is the more casual choice, the big dining room is much more formal & even more expensive.    One of the public rooms is set aside for those that just have to have Internet hook up, there were people in there on their computers!  That boggled my mind, I wanted to say why are you in here on a computer when you can be outside in one of the most awesome places in the world?  People just amaze me & not always in a good way.   :-)

Yes, that is me on the patio at the Ahwahnee Hotel!  I had to have a picture so prove I was there!!

I was also a person that said I was lacking ambition yesterday.  The Lord rested on the 7th day so I thought it was okay for me!!!  Not that I have much ambition on any day now that I am retired.

Mary, your chicken dinner sounds yummy.  It is one of those recipes that can be adapted to any taste.  I love Italian food.  I ended up having breakfast for dinner as something I thought was in the freezer, wasn't!  I guess when I used the last one I failed to notice that it was the last!!!!

Amanda, love the frog picture!  So cute.  The people too!!  I hope you got to read or will today.  Thanks for telling me about Peddlers.

Donna H,  Lemon Meringue pie, one of my favorites.  I haven't made one in years!!  Sounds scrumptious.
Basement!  Just as well I don't have one.  I loved the Born in series by Nora Roberts, but it has been a long time since I read it.  One of these days I will probably reread.

Sandi, the Harry Potter books must take up a lot of space on the iPod!!  I don't think I have ever read any of Marie Bostwick's books.  I might see if the library has any of them

I finished a book last night that was somewhat chilling!  It is about a psychic that is sometimes able to help the FBI solve a case involving children.  Some of the scenes when a child went missing were hard to read but the story was good, there was a romance & a HEA!  The book is The Missing by Shiloh Walker.  I think this is the first book of hers that I have read.  She didn't dwell on the horrible crimes but it was still chilling in some respects.  I don't care to read a lot of this type of book.  I need something more upbeat after that!  I picked Barefoot in the Sand by Roxanne St. Claire, one of my favorite authors, to read.  This is a different type story for her.  I've only read a few pages but I think  it will be a good read.  The main female character is a mom so I can add that to my "mom" challenge for May.

I better sign off as I am going to go to the store before it gets any warmer.  Here is another picture of the Ahwahnee from a different side.

Have a wonderful, sunny day where ever you are,
Donna M

Happy Reading
