Sat. afternoon

I didn't look at your posts as I'm so far behind. I just wanted you to know that I'm still alive and kicking!!  I have a/c now, temporarily.  They put freon in w/dye to see where the leak is.  Now we wait until the freon runs out!  And it's hot in Fl now, like 89-90!

I'm trying to get the yellow spots out of my damask and cotton table cloths that have been in the drawer for too long.  I've tried everything I know but bleach.  I just put toothpaste on the flowered one and washed it; it seemed to work but I missed some spots.  Right now I have it drying on the grass in the sun!  If I can get the spots out, I want to sell them and put the money towards the of my a/c.

Last Sat. I spent 7 hours in the hot FL sun  unloading and counting the bags of food from the Stamping Out Hunger food drive that the US Postal Service does every year.  Oldsmar Cares gets the food from the Oldsmar Post Office.  We got 1217 bags of food which weighed appx. 8 lbs. each, give or take (some were boxes).  Most of that food will be gone by July!

I spent Mother's Day alone, no cards  from my sons, of course.  So I sent them an email with the subject line of "Dollar Tree" and I told them that I buy all my cards there b/c they're 50 cents each and that they had no excuse, none whatsoever, for not sending me a b-day card, Christmas, Valentin's, or Mother's Day card.  Told them that I raised them better than that; that they signed all the cards for their relatives growing up.  Then I threw in the Fifth Commandment for good measure.  I heard from my older son on Monday; he said that he called but I didn't return it (never rang here).  I'm still waiting on my younger son but, I feel better as this has been building for a long time.

Did anyone receive Tell HQ books?  I got two Brenda Jackson books and they sure didn't give me much time to read them.  However, one of them, Solid Soul, does fit with the theme for the month and so, I'm going to include it as my selection.  It's actually quite good and is about two teens who want to get their single parents off their backs.  They decide that their parents need a life and so, come up with a plan to make their parent think that they are madly in love.  Of course, Tiffany Haggin's mother and Marcus Steels' father go ballistic b/c both were teen parents themselves.  This of course brings the single parents together and volia, sparks fly!  However, Kylie, Tiffany's mother is very reluctant to get involved again b/c of her daughter.  Therefore, the kids are forced to take drastic measures and disappear overnight (actually went to Marcus' uncle's house).  Their parents freaked and were forced to face the fact that they loved each other and HEA!  I liked the kids ingenuity in masterminding this little stunt.  If one of my sons had ever pulled something like this.............

Well, it's time to go.  I want to go to a dance tonight.  I hope you all have a great weekend!  It's hard for me to find this place b/c I can't bookmark on my laptop.
