Well, it has been a crazy week or so since I have last been here. First, everyone in the family got sick. Wednesday night, Luke got it. Unfortunately, my board meeting was Thursday morning, so Mike got to stay home in the morning with him and me in the afternoon. Friday, I took the car to repair the light, so I had to work from home. Friday night, both Mike and I got the flu. Sunday night, Maggie got the flu. Wednesday, Mike got hit (looks like his car is totaled, but luckily, neither he or the other drive was hurt) then on Thursday, I had my Annual Event for work and that damn light came on in my car again. As you can see, it has been a bit crazy. Hopefully, the rest of May will be much better. I keep telling myself to look at the bright side, we were all done with the flu before my event and no one was hurt and they will fix my car for free since it is under waranty, but jeez o'peets it has been a bit annoying.
Today, I am getting away from it all. As although I am working this morning, I am chaperoning my son's field trip this afternoon. So hopefully, hanging around a bunch of 7 year olds will put me right.
I did read my May Mom's book - The Mummy's Case. The book is part of the Amelia Peabody books. She became a mother in the book before, and in this one takes her child with her on the family's adventures. She is definately not your typical mom and at times, you can see the other characters question whether she really loves her son (she is not very demonstrative). However, when he is threatened, there is a great scene showing the power of a Mother. I have the next in the series, but am not sure when I will read it.
I also read the first in the Amanda Stevens, Graveyard Series. Another good book. A bit spooky, but I enjoyed it. Also read the new Nora - The Next Boyfriend, part of the Boonesboro series.
I did read all the posts, but my brain is a bit foggy from everything. So I will try and comment next time. Hope everyone has a great weekend. We are going out with my MIL for mothers day on Saturday and are not sure of our plans for Sunday. Hope everyone gets pampered a bit.
