WEDNESDAY

Ok..so life doesn't often go the way I plan and I don't get here nearly often enough!

Cady, so sorry to hear about Mike's car. Over the years we've had a couple of our cars totaled. The first one was a Nissan Sentra that I bought when Mike said if I could afford a car on the salary I was making at the time I could buy one. (we were newly married and I don't think he thought I would actually do it) I paid $5100 for it brand new in about 83, and the insurance company gave me $1500 7 years later. The next one was Richard's and we bought it from Mike's dad's estate. We got a great deal...it had a blue book of $12,000 but we only paid $3000! It was a 92, we got it in 96, and eventually passed it to Richard who drove it til about 2004. He parked it and someone backed into it. They damaged the hood (which are expensive to replace) and because of the age of the car they totaled it. We got $2800!

What kind of car did he have? What kind is he thinking about?

I don't think Marliss Melton is writing anymore. Maybe self publishing in ebooks...but I don't recall seeing her name on the days when I help at Fresh Fiction. A lot of authors who were only selling so-so have become victims of the economy as publishers are picking either new authors (who I guess write cheap) or established best sellers.

I guess we all did get the same books because I also got the Brenda Jackson books.

Donna H, I hope you have a good safe trip. I know I missed you, but maybe you'll sneak on somewhere along the way. It's great that you can share books with your daughter. Mom liked the shorter Harlequin, and I prefer the longer ones most of the time, so we didn't do too much sharing.

Good luck on getting all the outdoor gardening renovations done. I wouldnt' have a clue how to go about doing it! I don't think I even could at the moment because I have Oreo, and she likes to eat grass and dirt. I could just see her getting into beds and eating whatever looked appealing! Unlike a gopher or groundhog I can't get rid of her! LOL!!!

Margie, I don't blame you for not wanting to spray things with Gavin running around. I was pretty excited to see Katherine move on to the finals. I really like her. She just seems so sweet. I like Derik so it was sad he got eliminated, but someone had to go, and I just knew it wouldn't be William, and Donald has so grown on me...so Maria it was!

Donna, have you lived in your home a long time? Did the kids get to grow up in that yard? Oh...I thought it was funny when you said you had to fold clothes so you could go to bed. I also fold clothes on my bed! I can't tell you how many times I've had to make the bed, so I could do that, and then it's a great way to make sure they all get folded and put away, because if they don't...they'll end up in the wash again, and that's not a good idea!

Cady, when Richard's car got totaled they wanted to pick it up, but I got them to agree that I could take it to them because I needed to get it good and cleaned out, and the way he was keeping it would have taken longer than they were willing to give me if the wrecker came. I was glad they were willing to work with me. It helped me a ton!

Donna M, I'm confused...is the cat locked in or out? How long will you be staying at the house? How far from home is it? Your granddaughter's toe picture is so cute. Very summery!

Donna H, When I first got here today I caught a glimpse of the picture and thought it looked like a painting. Now that I've read the post I see it was a painting! How cool! How long have you lived in town?

I read the last book in the upcoming Sweet Magnolia Series by Sherryl Woods something with Azaleas in the title. I'm calling it my mom book, and her struggles to deal with it. It's also about a man who had a crush on her when they were young, but they both married others, and now she's in the divorce process and he's a widower. I really liked it, and have now started a book that I wish I was reading in June...it's about a single dad!

Still listening to Harry Potter and The Goblet of Fire.

Tonight is book club. I forgot the things I was supposed to take. I might have to run home and nab them! DARN! J.T. Ellison is the call in author.

Have a great hump day!
