Thursday Afternoon

Donna, I haven't had much time to watch Dancing this year as a lot of Mondays I'm at Fresh Fiction helping. I was going to attempt to do on demand or through the ABC player on my IPAD to catch up, but time just really doesn't allow it! I do try to catch the Tuesday shows so I can see who is eliminated. It was sad this week that Catherine was in jeopardy, and I would have been upset had Melissa stayed and she gone. It's going to be an interesting close to the season. I wonder if it will be coming back or if America is losing interest. I don't watch The Bachelor or The Bachelorette, but I can't believe that Emily is going to subject herself and her daughter to that!

The closing picture looks like some sort of animal coming out of the rock! You have a really creative eye! I was going to take a picture of our bed with the new pillows I bought, and my brother's picture hanging over it, but just as I was about to shoot the phone rang, and I never got back to it!

Mary, when you work at the library does it add to your wishlist? Did I ever mention that when they were building the branch I use I was so disappointed because it appeared to be ready, and when I called to check on it was told it wouldn't open til like March, and I think it was Sept when I called. Of course I couldn't see the inside work that needed doing, and then there is all the manual work that goes into getting a book on the shelf, so when I stopped and thought about those issues I decided that maybe March wasn't too bad after all!

I used to go to California all the time. My brother is 13 years older than I am, and when he moved there my parents would send me to spend at least a week with him. I went at least once a year from the time I was 10 until I graduated high school. I then went twice with Mike. The last time was a free trip for me, but I came home with an unexpected souvenir...Richard! He was born almsot exactly 9 months from the day that I arrived in California (Mike had gone earlier for a business trip, and the company he was visiting paid for my trip to come for a long weekend) I tease all the time that 1) I got pregnant while Mike was on a business trip, and that 2)because of my expensive souvenir Mike won't let me go back to California as I've not been back since!

If I'm recalling correctly Freon is expensive because it's been determined to be so dangerous to the environment. Things are supposed to be being made without the need for freon.

It's been hectic getting adjusted to having Richard and Elijah in the house. I'm not going to be able to get by without cooking as much as I used to...if I was tired people fended for themselves with frozen items or canned things..Elijah can't! We had him to ourselves yesterday and that was hard because I think he really missed his mommy and daddy. We're all exhausted and I think reached our breaking point yesterday. Thankfully because of unusual circumstances he's leaving tonight and we wont' be getting him back until a week from Sunday. We can rest! Maybe get things in better shape before he returns and our minds in a better mindset!

If it wasn't for my audio books to and from work I wouldn't even be reading...that's how much time I don't have anymore!

Today I had to end up working a double shift because one of my employees who comes at 6:30 couldn't. Her son is really sick, and I couldn't get her shift covered. (that's the down side to too many kids) Then I was going to go to BN and read for a bit, but as I went I realized I needed another shift covered, and called an employee who I thought would do it, only to discover she had a 102 fever! I ended up turning around and coming back to work to attempt to cover her shift. Another employee called in, and was supposed to come to work, but at 2 I realized she never came, and so I had to ask yet another employee to work overtime. Ellen won't be pleased, but she should have covered it! I only say that because 1)the employee always calls her and not me when they're not coming, and 2)she was supposed to come when her son was done at the doctor, and it's 2 and no phone call and no person at my door! I did sneak in a little nap in Ellen's office. I really need a raise for this nonsense!

Ok..enough moaning and groaning on my part. Hopefully I'll be able to get back to checking in on a more regular basis!

Sandi
