Well, this weekend was much better. The chaperoning trip was fun, but it is amazing how exhausting those children's museums are. We relaxed on Friday night as the weather was great, so we bbq. Then Saturday, I did all my cleaning as I didn't want to have to do any on Mother's Day. We went down to see my MIL that night. We were going to take her out to dinner. But, Mike's brother and his family and his sister-in-law and her kids decided to come too, so we just ordered in. That was nice as we probably would have ended up with the bill, so this was a much smaller bill. :) Then on Sunday, the kids did breakfast in bed for me and then we had friends in for a bbq - shrimp & steak tacos. Yummy. I am hoping that the rest of the week will continue on this good trend. As for the car, we got the total amount and it is higher than we would have gotten had we traded it in. Of course, we were hoping to get another 6 months out of the car (it had about 190K miles on it). Now, Mike is going to go car shopping, but until he gets the check from the insurance, no buying.
Was lazy all weekend and didn't do any reading, am hoping to start the new Maisie Dobbs book - Elergy for Eddie today. We have a doctor's appt for Luke, baseball practice and I have a night meeting, so depending on my wait times, I may or may not have time.
DonnaM - I heard that the Marigold Hotel movie was good. My mom loves Judi Dench, so I imagine she will go see it. I was hoping to go see the Avengers, but while my daughter wants to go, my son thinks it might be too scary.
Mary - sounds like you all had a great time at the recital. I always think it is so cute, when the girls get flowers. It is odd, I really liked the Restorer, but didn't get a vibe on John. Seemed too distant. Almost want another guy for her.
Amanda - What a beautiful family picture of you all. I can't believe that Aurora is 15 already. Oh my, will she being driving next year? I know it is different in every state.
DonnaH - Have a great trip to Calgary, we are looking forward to hearing about it.
Margie - Doesn't it drive you crazy when plants disappear. Last year, we lost all our strawberries to bunnies. Since we are having some work done in our bed, I have to be real careful what I plant or it may get ruined when they pull the old stumps out.
Hope everyone has a great Tuesday.
Cady
