One More Time

Well, I made it back one more time.  Won't guarantee I'll get here tomorrow, though, as I have to babysit, which I hadn't planned on, so I'll have to compact everything else I had planned into a shorter time frame.

Donna M, thanks for the description.  I guess I could have looked in the dictionary, too, but somehow, it just didn't dawn on me that it was a word that would have a dictionary meaning.  I thought it was some local word used to describe whatever it was you were talking about. . . just a bit of a "senior's moment" there. . .  {:-)  as my daughter would say.

Margie, gophers are a horrible nuisance, and can proliferate almost as fast as rabbits.  Go to a farm supply store and see if you can buy some poison.  Put a little right down in the hole so nothing else can get at it.  Or else call Pest Control, and they'll come and do it for you.  If you don't get rid of him, you can kiss your garden goodbye.  And they'll dig holes anywhere, and everywhere, lawn, garden, flowerbeds, they're awful pests.

Amanda, I knew I forgot something.  Last post I meant to tell you what a beautiful family you have.  Well, you do. . .  {:-)

Mary, around here gophers and groundhogs are two different creatures, both pests, but gophers might do more damage.  Groundhogs are a whole lot bigger than gophers, but they still live in holes in the ground.  You can get rid of them the same way as gophers.  The only thing you can't get rid of that way is moles.  For them you really need to call pest control, because you have to trap them in a trap that's hidden underground in one of their runs.

I started reading one of the Brenda Jackson books, too.  I guess we got the same books.  Then my order came, and I had been waiting for the conclusion to the Fitzgerald Bay series, so I laid the BJ aside.  My daughter wants the Fitz- Bay one, too, so I promised her I'd finish it before we leave on Wed a.m. and leave it on my table for her, so when she comes to water my plants she will pick it up.

We were out at the greenhouse on Sat, and also today.  Our friend who owns it always has an open house on the Sat before mother's day, with coffee, donuts, and a door prize.  Our daughter won the door prize this year, a really neat planter, and a 10" basket of flowers to fit in it.  Sat. we came home with about 1/10th of the plants we're going to need to fill all our planters, and flower beds.  Today we came home with a really nice new planter, and a bale of dirt.  {:-)  I'm planning on doing a major overhaul of all my planters this year, getting rid of the old broken ones, buying some new ones to replace them. . .  re-doing my waterfall -- that's the really big job!

Must go, my bed's full of clothes that need folding and hanging, and it's almost time to crawl into it. . .  {:-)
